~~~ <br />Siren Hustrulid reported contacting a representative of the <br />control Tieso ~ectric Company, low bidder on the proposed siren <br />control. From their discussion, Hustrulid said it appeared <br />that the installation described in Tieso Electric Company's <br />bid Would not do all that our Fire Department required. <br />Fire Chief Swanson on request furnished details on operation <br />requirements of the siren control desired, so that a further <br />check of the installation proposed by Tieso could b e made. <br />Village Hall Shavor reported on work being done on the Village Hall driveway <br />driveway and and parking lot, stating that Engineer Carley will check the <br />parking grade before having the area oiled. <br />Stabilization of .Engineer Carley's letter of August 2l~, 1954 was read relating <br />streets, Maple to stabilization of streets in the Maple Knoll addition, with <br />Knoll addition detailed specifications and suggesting that the council consider <br />accepting a cash settlement from the developer and use the <br />money to reconstruct this street surface in 1955• After dis- <br />cussion, Stewart moved that the Village atto rney be requested <br />to write Cetem Realty accordingly. Seconded by Stenzinger <br />and motion carried unanimously. <br />Crossroads Letter of August 18, 195l~, from Attorney Frank J. Hammond, <br />Addition relating to easements over the property immediately to the <br />west of "The Crossroads" was read. Also report of the <br />Planning Commission, dated August 21, 19511, with their <br />recommendation on plat of the "Crossroads Addition" which. <br />was referred to them some time ago. The report stated that <br />Mr. Anker, the surveyor, was asked to furnish additional <br />plat information as required by Village platting <br />regulations and to show a 60-foot roadway for Fry Street <br />instead of a 50-foot roadway, since Fry street might some <br />time be considered amain thoroughfare and should therefore <br />be b0 ft. wide as required by platting regulations. Shavor <br />moved that the report of the Planning Commission be accepted <br />and that the Cle rk notify the developer of the requirements. <br />Stenzinger seconded and motion carried unanimously. <br />Meeting time It being 11 P.M., Cartwright moved, seconded by Stewart, <br />for adjournment that time for adjournment be extended in order tocomplete the <br />extended evening's schedule of Village business. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Klatt's Addition After discussion, it was agreed that Mr. Graham would advise <br />Mr. Klatt's attorney that the plat had been approved by our <br />Planning Commission subject to proper dedication of"the~ <br />property covered by Ruggles street from Holton Avenue to <br />Hemline Avenue. <br />Alley behind Rees The Clerk reported that Don Julen agreed to see if Mr. Rees <br />property north would contribute to .the expense of fixing the alley back <br />of Larpenteur Ave. of the Rees property north of Larpenteur, subject to Engineer <br />Carley's success in securing from the Power Company a cash <br />settlement for alley damage account laying gas mains, and <br />subject further to agreement of the Village to bear a part <br />of the expense of fixing this alley. <br />Filing system The Clerk also reported on the filing system for plans used <br />for plans. by the Farmer Union Grain Terminal Assn., which he felt could <br />be used to advantage in filing commercial plans filed with <br />" the Village. <br />
