Also the Mayor was asked <br />to refer the petition to the Planning Commission for <br />consideration and report before the public hearing. Seconded <br />by Stewart and motion carried unanimously. <br />Maple Knoll - Letter of November 1 from Attorney Graham, enclosing copy of <br />catch basins, letter from Cetem Realty Corporation, stating that catch basins <br />snow plowing covers will be placed and other dangerous conditions corrected, <br />also that the Cardinal Construction Company has been instructed <br />to keep the streets in Maple Knoll in condition for snow plowing. <br />Also that Getem Rea7.ty agrees to hold the Village harmless for <br />any claims for damage to property due to snow plowing. <br />Klatt's Addition - Messrs. Conrad R. Klatt and George Lodahl appeared before the <br />plat accepted council in connection wi th securing approval of the platting <br /> of Klatt's Addition. Mr. Klatt indicated his willingness to <br /> furnish the Village a performance bond.in the amount of X4,000, <br /> as recommended by our Village Engineer, to cover remaining <br /> street construction work in the Addition, including the <br /> stabilization of these streets in accordance with Village <br /> specifications. After discussion, Hustrulid moved approval <br /> of the plat of Klatt's Addition presented to the council and <br /> executed by Mr. Klatt on October 6, 1951, and that the Clerk <br /> be authorized to execute .the plat for the Village ~zpon approval <br /> of the bond by the Village Attorney. Seconded by Cartwright <br /> and motion carried unanimously. <br />Fred Martin inquired as to proposed lighting of the Snelling-Larpenteur <br />1717 N. Pascal business area and about the advisory vote taken by the <br /> legislative committee on a municipal liquor store. <br />B1d. permit Building Inspector Christensen reported receipt of an <br />hot 1, Maple application for building permit on Lot 1, ~~aple Knoll addition, <br />Knoll and asked horv this lob would be affected by the proposed plan <br />for widening Fry street. Attorney Graham advised that said <br />street plan would affect only the westerly 15 feet of Lot 1, <br />and recommended issuing of the building permit if the plans and <br />placing of the house comply with our ordinance. <br />Fire maintenance- Cartwright reported on his visit with Mr. Middlebrook regarding <br />Playground program fire protection for University East Grove and other matters. <br /> Said while no resalts were obtained on the fire protection <br /> question, that he felt the contact served to improve our <br /> relationship with the University. Cartwright also reported <br /> that in checking Village fire maintenace costs for the first <br /> nine months of this year, that he found we were operating <br /> within our budget. He also reported on the proposed playground <br /> program, that our businessmen are especially interested, that <br /> parents will be asked to cooperate and action taken to form <br /> a committee and get started on the matter. Proposed skating <br />rink locations were discussed, and Cartwright agreed to look <br /> over the drainage area at Idaho and Snelling to see what is <br /> necessary to put this location in shape before flooding for <br /> rink purposes <br />
