<br />REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1955
<br />Meeting called to order at 7:Lt0 P.M., with roll. call recording the following council
<br />members present: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Andrew
<br />Hustrulid, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; and Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk.
<br />Also present: William E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes of January 26, 1955 meeting were heard and approved as read.
<br />Reqn. #lt9, stationery supplies for Fire Dept., was read. Approval
<br />F.D. moved by Cartwright, seconded by Hustrulid and so ordered.
<br />Bell ~ Letter of February 9 from Hal Newell, Director, Communications
<br />Light & Warning Systems, Civil Defense Committee, was read, together
<br />system with requisition No. 50, covering Village portion of purchase
<br />Reqn. #50 price of Bell & Lights warning system equipment in the amount
<br /> of ~lt2.50. It was pointed out that the Village will be required
<br /> to pay the monthly telephone-line charge of X5.00 for the first
<br /> year, at the end of that time filing for the 50y6 yearly
<br /> apportionment rebate due the Village. Cartwright moved that
<br /> check be issued in the amount of ~l~2.50 for said purpose, aca~ing
<br /> check payable to State Treasurer, Minnesota, and that the 50~
<br /> yearly rebate due the Village be filed for at the proper time.
<br /> Seconded by Stenzinger. Motion carried unanimously.
<br />Village Letter of January 28 from County Assessor Ronald V. Powers,
<br />Assessor stating he had appointed Elmer B. Rowley as Village Assessor.
<br />appt. for the year 1955 as recommended by the council, and requesting
<br />confirmed that the Mayor be authorized to sign a note addressed to the
<br /> County Assessor, confirming said appointmen t. On motion by
<br /> Cartwright, seconded by Stenzinger, it was voted unanimously
<br /> to approve the County Assessors request.
<br />Legislative Legislative bulletin, dated January 2lt, of the League of
<br />bulletin, Minneaota Municipalities, including summaries of various
<br />Leagues, bills, was presented. After discussion, Stenzinger moved
<br />referred to that the bulletin be referred to the Legislative committee
<br />Legislative for study and recommendation. Seconded by Shavor and
<br />committee carried unanimously.
<br />Public Statement prepared by Public Safety Supervisor Don Arndt
<br />Safety was noted, shoering that cost of Village policing for 195l~
<br />was ~i,931 with fines amounting to X1,237.00, making the net
<br />Village cost ~69lt.13. Mr. Arndt will submit later a summary
<br />covering activites of the department for 19511.
