<br />Proposed State Leonard K. Doran, real estate operator, 1550 ~. Larpenteur,
<br />Farm Mutual reported that the State Farm Mutual Life Insurance Company
<br />Building is interested in putting up an office building in Falcon
<br /> Heights, of some 70,000 square feet, requiring !~~ acres of
<br /> land where sewer may be had. His estimate was that the
<br /> proposed building would cost X700,000, or around a million
<br /> dollars when completed and equipped, He also estimated
<br /> them would be about 300 employes. Because their present
<br /> lease expires this year, Mr. Doran said the insurance company
<br /> desires to change locations before next October and to start
<br /> building next spring or summer. After considerable discussion,
<br /> Mr. Doran agreed to contact the University of Minnesota with
<br /> respect to University-owned land on Snelling avenue south of
<br /> Holly rood Court.
<br />Parks & Cartwright reported that the newly appointed Parks & Playgrounds
<br />Playgrounds committee held their first meeting a week ago at his home, and
<br />committee all of the members present evidenced special interest in the work.

<br />committee - liquor store, was read, After discussion, Shavor moved
<br />acceptance of the report and that the Mayor and a member of

<br />by Hustrulid and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Committee apptd. Stewart and Hustrulid reported that. the businessmen they had
<br />to contact .talked with indicated their willingness to cooperate with the
<br />St Paul council council in requesting a sewer connection with the City of St Paul.

<br />the Mayor, Trustee Cartwright and Trustee Hustrulid arrange to
<br />meet with the St Paul City council regarding the matter, Seconded
<br />by Shavor and motion carried.
<br />Fire hydrae t Letter of January 28 from Leonard H, Thompson, General Manager,
<br />at Fire Station Water Department, St Paul, with estimated costs on the proposed
<br />fire hydrant installation near the Fire Station, advising that
<br />the Board of Water Commissioners had approved our request.
<br />Stenzinger moved that the Clerk acknowledge Mr. Thompson's letter,
<br />stating that Trustee Cartwright is appointed to discuss the
<br />matter with him, Hustrulid seconded and motion carried un-
<br />animously.
