~6 <br />Radio set-up Sid Bumgardner reported on four meetings which he attended <br />for Ramsey and which were held for discussing the proposed radio setup <br />County for fire departments and policing in Ramsey County. <br />Vol. Firemen Letter of March 1lt, 1955, was read from the Falcon Heights <br />withdraw Volunteer Firemen's Association, requesting withdrawal of <br />recommendations the Association's recommendations of January 10, 1955, based <br />of Jana 10. on the Association's belief that adoption of Ordinance No. 31 <br />and adherence to its provisions will correct matters referred <br />to in their January 10 recommendations. <br />Oc~erational Copy of the Fire Chief's letter of March 16, 1955, was read <br />Officers' relative to holding an operational officers' training school <br />Training each Monday evening, beginning April Lt, 1955, as directed by <br />School the Council in the minutes of February 9, 1955. <br />Planning Commission The Clerk read a letter dated April 2, 1955, from the Falcon <br />re Associated Heights Planning Commission, in connection with the Public <br />Investors do Wilensky Hearing held by the Planning Commission on March 30, 1955, to <br />variance request consider the variance set-back request of the Associated <br />Investors and Mr. Ben Wilensky, the Commission making the <br />following recommendations: <br />Recommendations: "1. The Commission recommends that the proposed 10 ft. <br />set back along Snelling Drive not be allowed because <br />there appear to be satisfactory alternative locations <br />of the proposed building not requiring a variance to <br />Village requirements. <br />"2. The Commission also recommends that no proposal for <br />further .development of the land enclosed by Larpenteur <br />Avenue, Arona, West Idaho and Snelling Drive be considered <br />until a master plan for all vacant land in the above area <br />has been agreed upon by all parties concerned. <br />"3. Mr. Stepnitza of the Associated Investors, has indicated <br />that he would welcome suggestions from the Council as to <br />what use he could put the land owned by Associated <br />Investors in the above mentioned area. In view of this <br />and recognizing the need for development of this area <br />in the best interests of the Village, the Commission <br />recommends that the Council request the Planning Commission <br />to work on a plan for the utilization of this land that <br />will be satisfactory to the Oillage, the land owners and <br />the residence owners in the immediate vicinity." <br />Planning Commission After discussion, Hustrulid moved that in accord with <br />asked to prepare recommendation No. 3, that the Planning Commission be requested <br />master plan. to work on a plan for utilization of the land bounded by <br />Larpenteur, Arona, West Idaho and Snelling Drive, which the <br />Commission believes will be satisfactory to the Village, the <br />land ovmers and residence owners in the imtnea~aate vicinity. <br />Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried unanimously. <br />It was agreed to defer action on the variance request until a <br />later meeting. <br />
