<br />May 25 Hustrulid then moved that the regular meeting of the council
<br />meeting scheduled for May 25, be deferred to Thursday, May 26,
<br />postponed following the public hearing on the Associated Investors, Inc.
<br />rezoning request. Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried
<br />unanimously.
<br />N.L. Hermes N. L. Hermes submitted a petition requesting the rezoning of
<br />rezoning Lot 7 of the Crossroads from Residence district A to Business
<br />request district. Cartwright moved that said petition be referred to
<br />our attorney for checking and report. Seconded by uustrulid
<br />and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Public Sid Bum~ardner, Chairman, Public Safety Commission, reported
<br />Safety on arrangements that had been made with the County Traffic
<br /> Engineer for establishing a 30-mile speed limit on Roselawn
<br /> between Hamline and Snelling. He also reported that yellow
<br /> lines marking the pedestrian crosswalk would be painted. in.
<br /> Also reported that Officer Dachtera would attend the FBI school
<br /> for police to be held in Roseville for five. evenings during the
<br /> next five weeks and proposed that Dachtera be paid for this
<br /> police school attendance. After discussion, Shavor moved that
<br />Police Police Officer Henry Dachtera be paid for attending one FBI
<br />school police school meeting, but that he be notified by the Public
<br />attendance- Safety Supervisor that payment for attendance at additional
<br />Dachtera FBI school meetings will not be allowed. Seconded by Hustrulid
<br /> and motion carried unanimously.
<br /> Mr. Bumgardner reported further on the Commission's proposal for
<br /> having selected residents watch for and report on speeders on
<br /> residential streets, not including Larpen tear or Snelling avBnues.
<br /> Said he had discussed the proposal with the County Traffic
<br /> Engineer. After some discussion, Mr. Bumgardner said he would
<br /> confer with representatives of the League of Vromen Voters to see
<br />• if the League can assist in the proposed plan.
<br />Sanitary Letter of May 1~ from Attorney Graham, relating to suggested
<br />Sewer changes in a proposal submitted by Toltz, King and Day, Inc.,
<br />proposal covering the preliminary survey for a sanitary sewer system
<br /> for the Village, was discussed with Mr. A.J. Duvall. It was
<br /> agreed that Adr. Duvall and Attorney Graham would confer further
<br /> on the proposed changes, with the idea of submitting a revised
<br /> proposal for the council to consider at its May 26 meeting.
<br />Bills: On motion by Cartwright, seconded by Shavor, it was voted to
<br /> act on the George E, Swanson claim separately, covering
<br /> expense, State Fire School, April 25-29, and to-pay the
<br /> following bills:
