<br />REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, MAY 26, 1955
<br />meeting called to order at 10:20 P.;ui., roll call recording the following council members
<br />present: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Andrew Hustrulid,
<br />Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; and Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present:
<br />William E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, .~'#ttorney.
<br />Minutes of May 11, 1955 meeting were heard and approved as read.
<br />Village The Clerk read a copy of the resolution of the Board of
<br />Assessor County Commissioners, adopted by the Board on May 9, 1955,
<br />pay authorizing the County Assessor to compensate legally appointed
<br /> Town and Village assessors for 1955, Falcon Heights Village
<br /> Assessor being listed at X800.00.
<br />Arona Ave. Attorney Graham summarized copy of his letter of May 23, 1955,
<br />strip to PJtr. ti9arren Blaisdell, Northwestern Bank Building, Minneaapolis,
<br /> wi th respect to the ownership of a strip of property in Arona
<br /> avenue, with request f or a quit claim deed on same from George
<br /> S. Filson to the Village in order to clear the record.
<br />N.L. Hermes Attorney Grahams letter of May 17, 1955, was read, advising
<br />petition he had checked the petition submitted by N. L. Hermes, re-
<br /> questing the rezoning of Lot 7 of The Crossroads from Residence A
<br /> District to Business District, and that the petition was found
<br /> to be sufficient. After discussion, Shavor moved that $7e
<br /> petition be referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation,
<br /> and that a public hearing on the request be held at 7:00 P.M.,
<br /> June 8, 1955, in~the Village Hall. Seconded by Cartwright
<br /> and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Contract - A revised proposal covering work to be done by Toltz, King and
<br />Sanitary Sewer Day, Inc., in connection with the preliminary survey for a
<br />Preliminary Survey sanitary sewer system for the Village was discussed with Mr.
<br /> A.J. Duvall, municipal engineer, representing Toltz, King & Day,
<br /> Inc, On motion by Cartwright, seconded by Shavor, the following
<br /> resolution was adopted unanimously:
<br />Resolution - RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute
<br /> the agreement with Toltz, King and Day, Inc., of St Paul,
<br /> Minnesota, in accord with letter of May 25, 1955 from Toltz,
<br /> King and Day, Inc. to the council, and that Councilman Andrew
<br /> Hustrulid be designated'as t~~,counc~.lman;in charge of this
<br /> work for the Couri~ti~;` who -is ° ~ worjc~wi'~h '$olt2 , King and Day, Inc. ,
<br /> keeping in touch with the work being done on the project and
<br /> reporting on same to'the Council.
<br />Van Packer Building Inspector Christensen and Trustee Shavor reported on
<br />chimneys the matter of Van Packer chimneys which was referred to them.
<br /> They agreed that this chimney if permitted in residences
<br /> should be built on a foundation. Attorney Graham was asked to
<br /> check with the City of St Paul on this matter and report back
<br /> to the council.
<br />Bills: On motion by Hustrulid, seconded by Cartwright, the following'
<br /> bills were ordered paid:
