<br />The motion was declared passed by a three-fifths vote,
<br />Maple Knoll Village Engineer Carley's letter of June 5, 1955, referr-
<br />streets into to recommendations he made last year for stabilization of
<br />streets in Maple Knoll addition, together with a brief
<br />specification. In his letter of June 6, Mr. Carley stated
<br />that a cash settlement with the Village would be desirable,
<br />permitting the Village to have the work done, but that it
<br />may not be practical or possible. After discussion, Street
<br />Commissioner Seaborn was asked to inform the developer that
<br />the work must be completed by the middle of August this
<br />year, also to see about securing engineering assistance to
<br />check the job.
<br />Magazine The Clerk reported receiving a call from Tommy Lehman,
<br />soliciting Parkway Hotel, 'Minneapolis, crew manager of magazine
<br />salesmen, who inquired regarding one of his salesmen
<br />calling on residents of Falcon Heights. Mr. Lehman, the
<br />Clerk said, reported that St Paul and Minneapolis require
<br />magazine sales solictors to register with the police.
<br />Attorney Graham stated that the Village has no ordinance
<br />covering the matter. Mr. Vriinfrey, businessmen's
<br />representative, said he felt such an ordinance is needed.
<br />Hustrulid moved the Clerk inform Mr. Lehman that the
<br />Village has no ordinance pertaining to magazine soliciting.
<br />Seconded by Stewart and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Off-sale license Attorney Graham's letter of June 6, 1955, was read, enclos-
<br />fee increased ing copies of a proposed amendment to Ordinance No. 5 which
<br />would increase the Off-sale beer license fee to Sfi1~,C0 a
<br />Ordinance No. 33 year. .The proposed ordinance was read. After discussion,
<br />Cartwright moved adoption of ORDINANCE N0. 33, AN ORDINANCE
<br />AMENDING ORDINANCE N0.5, EPITZTLED "AN ORDINANCE LICENSING
<br />AND REGULATING THE SALE AND CONSUMPTION OF NON-INTOXICATING
<br />MALT LI~UORS.'~ Seconded by Hustrulid and the following
<br />vote taken and recorded;
