The Street <br />repaired Commissioner said he would have the County scrape <br />up the gravel so as to keep it off lawns. As to the <br />oiling of streets at this time, W.L. Linderman, 1512 <br />N. California, said this could b e done at a temperature <br />as low as 60 degrees. After discussion, Shavor moved <br />that the streets this year be repaired and. oiled as soon <br />as possible. Seconded by Hustrulid and carried <br />unanimously. <br />Associated Investors Letter of June 3, 1955, from the Planning Commission about <br />Rezoning request. a meeting at Mr. Gallaher's home on May 27, which the <br />Planning Commission held with representatives of the home <br />owners and developers who expressed their willingness to <br />work out a mutually satisfactory blan for developing the <br />area in question. After the meeting, the letter stated <br />the Planning Commission met and decided on the following <br />recommendations to the council: <br />1. - "That the request for rezoning be ~rrithheld because <br />of strong opposition by home owners of the area who have <br />presented some logical objections to the plan for developing <br />the area." <br />2. "That the Planning Commission be authorized to hold <br />meetings with representatives of the home owners and the <br />developers # ~ # to try and work out a plan for rezoning <br />the property in question to the satisfactoon of all concerned." <br />3, ~ ~ # "That action on any request for building permits <br />on any part of the area being considered., be postponed until <br />the meetinQS have been held and a compromise proposal for <br />the entire remaining vacant area is worked out." <br />Don Julen, <br />Associated Investors reported that the developers had preapred a new plan, <br />changing the size of the building and providing for better <br />control of traffic and for eliminating as much traffic as <br />possible on Arona. Jule" said the developers would be happy <br />to meet with the Planning Commission and representatives of <br />residents in the surrounding area at any time. Hustrulid <br />moved that copies of the Planning Commission's letter of <br />June 3, 1955, be made available to Mr. `Jule" and to the <br />home owners' representative, Mr, Fred Rahn, 1525 +Nest Iowa. <br />Seconded by Cartwright and carried unanimously. <br />
