The Street repaired Commissioner said he would have the County scrape up the gravel so as to keep it off lawns. As to the oiling of streets at this time, W.L. Linderman, 1512 N. California, said this could b e done at a temperature as low as 60 degrees. After discussion, Shavor moved that the streets this year be repaired and. oiled as soon as possible. Seconded by Hustrulid and carried unanimously. Associated Investors Letter of June 3, 1955, from the Planning Commission about Rezoning request. a meeting at Mr. Gallaher's home on May 27, which the Planning Commission held with representatives of the home owners and developers who expressed their willingness to work out a mutually satisfactory blan for developing the area in question. After the meeting, the letter stated the Planning Commission met and decided on the following recommendations to the council: 1. - "That the request for rezoning be ~rrithheld because of strong opposition by home owners of the area who have presented some logical objections to the plan for developing the area." 2. "That the Planning Commission be authorized to hold meetings with representatives of the home owners and the developers # ~ # to try and work out a plan for rezoning the property in question to the satisfactoon of all concerned." 3, ~ ~ # "That action on any request for building permits on any part of the area being considered., be postponed until the meetinQS have been held and a compromise proposal for the entire remaining vacant area is worked out." Don Julen, Associated Investors reported that the developers had preapred a new plan, changing the size of the building and providing for better control of traffic and for eliminating as much traffic as possible on Arona. Jule" said the developers would be happy to meet with the Planning Commission and representatives of residents in the surrounding area at any time. Hustrulid moved that copies of the Planning Commission's letter of June 3, 1955, be made available to Mr. `Jule" and to the home owners' representative, Mr, Fred Rahn, 1525 +Nest Iowa. Seconded by Cartwright and carried unanimously.
