Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried unanimously. <br />Hermes <br />Rezoning Messrs. A.F. Johannsen, 1729 N. Snelling and R.A. Shelgren, <br />protest - 1735 N. Snelling, appeared before the council in connection <br />with the rezoning of the Hermes property, Lot 7, The Crossroads, <br />from Residence district A to Business district. "!Ir. N. L. <br />Hermes also was present and was rep~sented by his attorney, <br />r~r. Charles E. Nieman of P~4inneapolis. After discussion, Mr. <br />N.L. Hermes and his attorney, ?'dr. Nieman, agreed that the <br />property would not be sold or put to any commercial use before <br />the council meeting set for August 10, 1955, and that in the <br />meantime they would attempt to work out an agreement with the <br />property owners. <br />Klatt's It'essrs. Conrad Klatt and Ernest A.garkham, road contractor, <br />Addition appeared before the council to state that they had been <br />streets waiting for about two months for Engineer Carley to stake <br />out the streets in the Klatt's Addition. 'the Clerk phoned <br />Engineer Carley why said the work had been started and would <br />be completed within a week. <br />Associated Investors Don Julep, representing Associated Investors, Inc., in appear- <br />rezoning petition ing before the council, stated that Chairman Williams of our <br />Planning Commission told him that at a meeting with several <br />of the property owners their expressed opinion was that they <br />did not want anything on Tract 2. Julep then reviewed the <br />requests made by his p~?a~y for development of the property <br />• - and the reaction which~r ni~icated the opposition does not want <br />anything on the property.
