After discussion, Cartwright moved that in accord with the <br />working minutes•of July 13, 1955, that the Fire Chief be notified <br />hours that the new schedule of working hours for the three paid. <br />schedule firemen be made effective°beginning August 28, 1Q55; that <br /> said schedule calls for 2~. hours on and ~8 hours off for <br /> each paid fireman, with each working an additional overtlapping <br /> eight-hour day per week, and that the Fire Chief be asked to <br /> prepare a detailed working schedule mutually satisfactory to <br /> the three paid firemen in conformance with the above requirements, <br /> furnishing the Clerk a copy of same. Seconded by Shavor and <br /> so ordered. <br />Paint The Clerk reported on the special need during S+ate Fair week <br />crosswalk for repainting of at least the lines bordering our pedestrian <br /> crosswalk. Shavor moved that the Clerk be authorized to have <br /> the County do this work, Seconded by Cartwright and motion <br /> carried. <br />Attorney reports Attorney Graham's letter of August 22, 1955, wa read, regard- <br />on private use the private use or junking of Village property and related <br />or junking of matters. The letter stated that generally speaking the <br />Village property "Village may acquire and use property only for public purposes." <br /> In some cases, the attorney said, the council may authorize <br /> the use of Village property for private purposes where a <br /> reasonable rental is charged, examples being rental of the <br /> Village Hall by private groups and the use of the Fire Depart- <br /> ment by Lauderdale. The a±torney said there is no authority <br /> for any other private use of village property, and that he <br /> believed it improper for the Village council or any village <br /> official or employee to authorized the lending of village <br /> equipment for private uses or the use of village supplies or <br />Copy to property.
