61~ <br />REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY, SEPTE1dBER 28, 1955 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M., the following council members being present: <br />George J. Shavor, Acting 1[ayor; Andrew Hastrulid, Trustee; David P. Cartxright, <br />Trustee; Clyde J. Stexart, Clerk. Absent: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor. <br />Also present: William E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney, <br />Minutes of September 14, 1955 meeting xere heard and approved as read. <br />Requisition covering supplies for Fire Department Fos approved on motion by <br />No. 65 Hustrulid, seconded by Cartxright. <br />Boy Scouts Letter of September 23, 1955, from Mr. Lloyd S. Knutson, District <br />to use Scout Executive, Boy Scouts of America, St Paul, xas read relative <br />Village Hall to xhether the Village Ha11 can be made available to the Scouting <br />program for one night a reek. Cartxright moved that we authorize <br />use of the Village Hall, xi thout charge, by the Boy Scouts one <br />night a reek, preferably Monday, provided the hall is put back in <br />the same condition as found, all such meetings to close at 11 P. M. <br />at the latest and that ~ attention be called to the fact that <br />occupied living quarters ad3oin the hall. Seconded by Stexart <br />and motion carried unanimously. <br />Apparatus In connection with Fire Chisf~s requisition fora hydro static <br />pump for ..test. pump for testing fire hose as against using pump on the <br />testing fire apparatus for this purpose because of question of damaging the <br />hose approved. pump in making such tests without xater floxing thru the pump; <br /> letter of September 23, 1955, from the Hale Fire Pump Company, <br /> Conshohocken, Pa., stating they could see no reason xhy the <br /> pump could not be used up to a xorking pressure of 400 PSI, <br /> and recommending that some Fater be discharged so the pump can <br /> be kept cool. This, they said, could be done by opening one <br /> of the hose drain valves slightly. Cartxright moved that copies <br /> of the letter be furnished the Fire Chief and our Volunteer firemen, <br /> Seconded by Hustrulid and motion carried. <br />Ruggles Highway Attorney Graham reported on highway easement pertaining to Ruggles <br />Easement street to be executed for Independent School District No. 3 by <br /> the Chairman and Clerk of the District, copies of easement to <br /> be returned to Attorney Graham for recording. <br />Klatt~s Addn. The Clerk reported discussing the unsatisfactory drainage condition <br /> on Ruggles near Hemline avenue Pith Messrs. Klatt and Carley. <br />Ruggles near Mr. Carley said he had received assurance from the road contractor <br />Hemline condition. that this portion of Ruggles would be put in satisfactory condition. <br /> Other streets in Klatt~s addition Fhich Fere reported breaking up <br /> xere in proper shape Fhen finished by the contractor, Carley reported. <br /> Damage to surfacing of these streets, Mr. Carley said, xas due to <br /> the Poxer Company making house connections for gas. Mr. Carley told <br /> the Clerk he (Carley) xould estimate the damag® and bill the Power <br /> Company for same. <br />Engr. to recheck After discussion, Shavor moved that in connection xith Engineer <br />do furnish ease- Don Carley~s letter of September 14, 1955 relative to streets in <br />men t. Klatt~s addition, that the Clerk xrite Engineer Carley that in <br />discovering that Ruggles St. at Hemline is such as not to drain <br />water properly that Fe understand Carley Fill re-check the con- <br />struction and xrite the Village after the necessary changes have <br /> <br />
