633 <br />Village election- After discussion, Cartwright moved that the polling place <br />Plac• - for the annual Village election, December 6, 1955, be at <br />Polls open, the Village Hall, 16l~4 West Larpenteur, for both precincts <br />12 noon-8 P.M. Nos. 1 and 2, and that the hours the polls are to be open <br />on election day shall be 12 Noon to 8:00 P.M., Seconded <br />by Shavor and motion carried unanimously. <br />Dec. 1!~ regular Following a discussion of the matter, Shavor moved that due <br />meeting advanced to 8bsence of a quorum on December 14, 1955, that the next <br />to Dec. 7, 1955 regular council meeting be advanced to Wednesday, December 7, <br />1955, beginning at 7:30 P.M. Seconded by Cartwright and - <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Filings for office The Clerk read the six filings for Village office to be voted <br />and filing fees on at the annual Village elction, December 6, 1955, and <br />turned over to Treasurer Olsen the $6.00 received for filing <br />fees. <br />Mayor asks Swanson's The Mayor handed to each council man a copy of a letter <br />reinstatement dated November, 23, 1955, signed by the Mayor, asking that- <br /> George Swanson be reinstated as Fire Chief with the privilege <br /> to resign from his position with a clear record. It was <br /> pointed out by Trustee Cartwright that George Swanson was <br /> given the opportunity to resign prior to the council's <br /> action of November 9, 1955, in dismissing Swanson as Fire <br /> Chief but that Branson refused. The question was also asked <br /> why George Swanson had not made said request direct to the <br /> council. No action was taken with respect to the Mayor's <br /> letter. <br />Fire Chief Cartwright then moved that the council sustain and re-affirm <br />dismissal its action taken at the regular meeting of November 9, 1955, <br />rm-affirmed in regard to the removal of George E. Swanson as Fire Chief. <br /> Seconded by Steuart and the following vote taken and recorded: <br />Ayess Cartwright, Hustrulid, Shavor, Stewart <br />Nays: Stenzinger <br />The motion was declared passed by a four fifths vote. <br />Bills: <br />On motion by Cartwright, seconded by Shavor, the following <br />bills were ordered paid: <br />Northwestern Bell Tel.
