<br />REGULAR MEETING, Y4'EDNESDAY, JANUARY 25, 1956
<br />Meeting called to order at 7:l~0 P.M., all council members being present as follows:
<br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee;
<br />Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present - William E. Olsen,
<br />Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes of the January 11, 1956 meeting were read. Statement regarding approval of
<br />requisition No. 72, on page 640, was corrected to read "except for fire hose on which
<br />the Clerk will receive bids." Also statement regarding P.S. Supervisor's expense
<br />allowance, on page 6115, was corrected to read, "P.S. Supervisor's salary." The
<br />minutes were then approved as corrected.
<br />Collateral Referring to the bank depository resolution on page 642 of the
<br />deposit minute book, Cartwright inquired whether the $110,000.00 collateral
<br />question furnished by the Falcon Heights State Bank should not be increased
<br />when our deposit exceeds the collateral amount. The attorney was
<br />asked to check the law and report back on the matter.
<br />Gas filling Application to operate the Cities Service gasoline filling
<br />station license- station, at 1670 N. Snelling, was received from Lyle J. l~hevalier,
<br />Lyle Chevalier together with his personal check for $19.00, covering pro rated
<br /> license fee, January 15 thru June 30, 1956. Cartwright moved that
<br /> that the license be issued subject to the required fire inspection
<br /> with the provision that the operator be instructed not to park
<br /> vehicles on .the boulevard. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried
<br /> unanimously.
<br />County Road Letter was read from the Board of County Commissioners, stating
<br />and Bridge that on January 16, 1956, the sum of ~2,68t1.411 was apportioned
<br />fund apport. to Falcon Heights as our share of the $60,000.00 in the County
<br /> Road and Bridge fund, the apportionment being based on a 70~
<br /> road mileage and 30~ property assessed valuation formula. it
<br />• was pointed out that last year's apportionment was $1,966.49.
<br />Ramsey County Letter of January 18, 1956 from the Ramsey County Legislative
<br />Legislative Research Committee was read, relative to any legislative
<br />Research Committee proposals Falcon Heights may have for legislative consideration
<br />letter during 1957• After discussion, Cartwright moved that the letter
<br />be referred to our Legislative Committee with the suggestion
<br />that they consider legislation for a municipal liquor store,
<br />on the constable and justice of the peace question, and for
<br />securing for our Fire Department Relief Association its share
<br />of the State's 2~ fire insurance premium tax. Seconded by Utecht
<br />and carried unanimously.
<br />Bills: On motion by Shavor, seconded by Cartwright, the following bills
