sus <br />REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11~, 1956 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M., all council members being present as follows: <br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; <br />Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: William E. Olsen, <br />Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney. <br />Minutes of February 23, 1956 were heard and approved as read. <br />Ice Cream Stand Application of Norman Brausen and Marvin Fortney for a license <br />license to operate an Ice Cream Stand at 1702 North Snelling Avenue, <br />was considered. Cartwright moved .~,~~r~va1 of said application <br />sub3ect to payment of the 9~10.00'license fee, and that the <br />applicants be reminded to renew the license on or before June <br />30, 1956. Seconded by Shavor and motion carried unanimously. <br />Apartment meter The Cle rk requested approval of arrangement made with the <br />ehangover Northern States Power Company whereby the electric service <br /> account for the apartment in the V},].lage Hall, formerly in <br /> the name of George E. Swanson, be changed over to the Village <br /> of Falcon Heights. After discussion, Shavor moved that the <br /> Clerk be authorized to approve the change over, and that he <br /> be requested to investigate the possibility of effecting a <br /> saving by adding the service to the main Village Hall meter. <br /> Seconded by Utecht and motion carried unanimously. <br />Sanitary Sewer <br />Engineers Letter of February 29, 1956, was read calling attention to <br /> change in our sanitary engineers' firm's name, Toltz, King, <br /> Duvall, Anderson and Associates, Incorporated, successors <br />to Toltz, King and Day, Inc. <br />Weed Inspector After discussion, Utecht moved appointment of Paul L. Coppini <br /> as Village Weed Inspector for 1955• Nilsen seconded, motion <br /> carried unanimously and Paul L. Coppini duly declared appointed <br /> to said office. <br />Swanson payment The Treasurer read a letter from George E. Swanson dated <br />for phone calls March 6, 1956, enclosing a check in the amount of X6.39, <br />minus allowance which he said represen tad X11.39 which he owed the Village <br />for work bench for long distance calls minus X5.00 for Swanson's interest <br />in the work bench at the fire station. Utecht moved that <br />the check be accepted and the matter closed. Seconded by <br />Cartwright and motion carried unanimously. <br />Insurance- add'1. Letter was read from The Keller Corporation advising tha t <br />prem. on warming the Village had been billed incorrectly for premium covering <br />house the warming house under fire and extended policy number <br />55C33715 and that the additional premium due amounts to X3.00. <br />Cartwright moved that payment of said additional premium be <br />authorized. Seconded by Shavor and carried unanimously. <br />Insurance bidding The proposal for securing bids vn the various insurance <br />proposed policies carried by the Village was discussed. Cartwright <br />moved that Lynn Matteson, William Torgerson and W. A. Mortensen <br />be appointed as a committee to study the matter and submit <br />their recommendations. Seconded by Shavor and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Workmen's Workmen's compensation policy number 6-952757 with the Mutual <br />Compensation ins. Service Insurance Company and renewal premium to March 10, <br />1957 in the amount of ~3l~6.88, was considered. After dis- <br />cussion, Cartwright moved approval, seconded by Stewart and so <br />ordered. <br />
