s~ <br />Police On recommendation of Public Safety Supervisor Don Arndt, <br />badges ~ Utecht moved that the purchase of one ~ci~ coat badge <br />and one hat badge for Village policing be authorized. <br />Seconded by Shavor and so ordered. <br />Teen Age The matter of using the Village hall assembly room for <br />dance teen age dancing was discussed with respect to whether the <br />floor had been adequately constructed for this purpose. <br />~, Building Inspector Christensen agreed to make arrangements <br />°~ for checking into the matter. It was also agreed that the <br />:Mayor should write the Parks & Playgrounds committee that <br />the teen age dance could be held in the hall on April 6 if <br />desired, subject to the following: (1) that none of the <br />group. be permitted on the fire station apron or in the fire <br />station on the first floor (2) that the hall be vacated at <br />11 P.M. and that it be swept and left in the same condition <br />as found, such cleaning to be done prior to noon of the <br />following day. (3) That all cars of the teen agers must be <br />removed from parking grounds at the station when the. dance <br />is over (~.) That the dance be adequately supervised. The <br />matter of providing drop cloths to cover the two fire <br />engines during the dance was discussed with Fire Chief <br />Grumke. <br />Ordinance No. 38 A proposed Fire Department ordinance was read and discussed. <br />Acting Volunteer Fire Chief Grumke's letter of March 28, 1956, <br />Fire Department was read, advising that the proposed ordinance had been sub- <br />mitted to senior Volunteer Firemen department officers and <br />that they had expressed their approval. Shavor then moved <br />adoption of ORDINANCE N0. 38, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE <br />ESTAffi~ISHMENT AND GOVERNMENT OF A VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCE N0. 31 PASSED <br />FEBRUARY 9, 1955 AND THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCE N0. 37 PASSED <br />OCTOBER 26, 1955. Seconded by Cartwright and the following <br />vote taken and recorded: <br />Ayes: Utecht, Shavor, Cartwright, Nilsen, Stewart <br />Nays: None <br /> Mayor Utecht declared Ordinance No. 38 adopted by a <br /> unanimous vote and ordered publication of same. <br />State Fire Fire Chief Grurnke's letter of March 28, 1956, was read <br />School recommending that two registrations for the Minnesota State <br /> Fire School, April 23-27, 1956, be made - one for Fireman <br /> Merkel and one for the Fire Chief, both not having attended <br /> previously. Cartwright then moved that Fireman Raymond L. <br /> Merkel and Fire Chief Earl Grumke be registered for the <br /> Minnesota State Fire School, the week of April 23-27, 195b, <br /> in accord with Chief Grumke's letter. Seconded by Nilsen <br /> and motion carried unanimously. <br />Asst.Chiefs take Letter from Fire Chief Grumke, reporting that he will be <br />over in Chief's out of town from April 2 to April 17, and that the two <br />absence assistant chiefs will take over in his absence, was read. <br /> Utecht moved approval, seconded by Cartwright, and motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br />F.D. Reqn. Requisition #77 for 3 loose leaf binders, floor mop~iight burs, <br /> desk pen & holder, and used washing machine for Fire Dept. was <br /> approved on motion by Cartwright, seconded by Shavor. <br />
