67~~ <br />Variance request, Report and recommendation of the Planning Commission was read <br />John J. Keller on the request of John J. Keller for a variance in the side <br />yard provisions of Section 10 of Ordinance No. 8, to permit <br />the west wall of a building to be placed two feet from the <br />west line of property at approximately 1790 West Larpenteur, <br />was read. The Planning Commission reported that the Commission <br />held a public hearing on said variance on May ~, 1956, and the <br />Clerk's affidavit of posting stated that notices of said hearing <br />s. APr.zg / S6, <br />were posted in the Village's three posting places' f]'he ~ 9 <br />Planning Commission made the following findings and recommended <br />the granting of said request subject to the provision that <br />roof water from the new building be diverted away from the <br />property of Mrs. Peter J, Kelle r: <br />"(1) There are special circumstances affecting the premises for <br />which the variance is requested; <br />"(2) The granting of this request is necessary for the preservation <br />and enjoyment of substantial property rights; and <br />"(3) The granting of this request will not materially affect <br />adversely the health, safety, or general welfare, or public <br />or private property." <br />After full discussion, and acting in accord with the Planning <br />Variance Commission's recommendation, Stewart moved that the request of <br />approved. John J. Keller for a variance in the sideyard provisions of <br />Section 10 of Ordinance No. 8, to permit the building of the <br />west wall of the building to be erected on property at <br />approximately 1790 Larpenteur Avenue West, two feet from the <br />westerly line of said property, instead of five feet from said <br />line as required by said section of Ordinance No. 8, be and <br />it hereby is granted, subject to the condition that provision <br />shall be made to insure that roof water from the building to <br />be erected will not be permitted to reach the adjoining property <br />to the west. Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />Tatum sign In connection with contimzing complaints regarding the street <br />sign on the south side of Larpenteur avenue at Tatum because <br />it is not readily visible, Shavor moved that we write the <br />County Engineer to see if a duplicate sign could be installed <br />at the northwest corner of Larpenteur and Tatum, if some <br />established policy precludes moving the present sign. Seconded <br />by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />Engr. Carley Pending street, alley and drainage .problems were discussed <br />requested to together with complaints received in this connection. <br />furnish report Utecht then moved that the Clerk write the Villa ge Engineer <br />on drainage & and ask for a report before our next meeting on May 23, 1956, <br />street problems on the following matters: <br />1. Correction of drainage problem at Arona and Calif ornia. <br />2. Recommendation on maintenance of seven improved albs. <br />3. Recommended changes in drainage at west end of Hollywood <br />Court drive. <br />I~. Recommendation on snow removal and oiling of streets. <br />5. Recommendation as to repairing road in Klatt's Addition <br />so as to improve drainage. <br />
