<br />Water - Letter dated June 13, 1956, from Leonard N. Thompson, General
<br />Maple Knoll Manager, Water Department, St Paul, xas read relative to the
<br />Water Department's study of the Maple Knoll area rater service
<br />situation. The le tter and data sheet information xere discussed
<br />xith representatives of the Maple Knoll committed including
<br />Frank Skog, 1b07 Maple Knoll drive; Mrs Henry Van Hoven, 1615
<br />D~pl.e Knoll drive; Mr. W.H. Pahl, 16011 Maple Knoll drive, and
<br />Mr. Leo Ohman, 1635 Garden. Shavor then moved that two copies
<br />of the Water Departmen is letter be turned over to the Maple
<br />Knoll committee for their consideration, that Shavor be the
<br />council's representative at any memrhit~ee meetings on the
<br />matter, and that the building inspector be instructed not to
<br />issue any further building permits in Maple Knoll until the
<br />rater situation is corrected. Seconded by Nilsen and motion
<br />carried unanimously.
<br />Maple Knoll Mr. W,H. Pahl, 16011 Maple Knoll drive, reported to the council
<br />traffic that some motorists xere by-passing the stop and go signal
<br />at Snelling and Larpenteur avenues, driving from Snelling
<br />Don Arndt via Maple Kno11 and F'Ygr streets to Larpenteur. ~r,~~Pahl proposed

<br />of the Maple Knoll committee, at a recent meeting of the Public
<br />Safety comr--ittee, at which State Traffic Engineer, Mr. Darrel],
<br />and County Traffic Engineer Chenoxeth xere present. Arndt
<br />reported rec~i~pg xord that two or three property oxners in
<br />the area~ob~ected to the proposed barricading of Maple Knoll
<br />drive. Attorney Graham questioned the legality of barricading
<br />a public street. Shavor moved that the request for traffic
<br />control thru Maple Knoll be referred to our Public Safety
<br />committee, xith the request that they consult xith Mr. Chenoxeth '
<br />on the various proposals made, and if possible to recommend
<br />a solution to the council. Seconded by Stexart and. motion
<br />carried unanimously.
