_, ~ ~ ~ <br />Bills (continued) <br />Elvin First Aid Supply, supplies, ~ Regn #81, ~2Lt.07 <br />Northwestern Bell Telephone Co., Mi 6-5200, June 10, X17.20 <br />General Trading Co., supplies Regn #81, $20.77 <br />Northern States Power Co., water heater elec., June 29, Iy0¢ <br />Community Copy of letter dated June 13, 1956, from the Board of Supervisors, <br />meeting, Town of Mounds View, was read relative to a meeting of <br />Mounds View representatives of suburban communities, beginning at 8 P.M., <br />Town Hall June 28, 1956, at the Pdounds View Town Hall, for the purpose <br /> of discussing general problems concerning suburban areas. <br />Rezoning Messrs. Adrian Keller, lIt1~0 Belmont St., Village of Roseville, <br />request of and Gregory Keller, 1038 N. Avon, St Paul, appeared before <br />Mrs. Julien the council to discuss a letter received by Ralph J. Kelle r <br />Lee, Ralph regarding our Planning Commission's recommendation on the <br />Keller and rezoning request of Mrs. Julien V. Lee, Ralph J. Keller and <br />others others, especially the Commission's request that the owners <br /> submit a plat plan for the south 1,002 feet of the property <br /> described in the petition. It was suggested that they contact <br /> and work out the matter with the Planning Commission. <br />Bldg. at Building Inspector Christensen reported that construction work <br />1790 W. on the building at about 1790 West Larpenteur had been stopped, <br />Larpenteur pending compliance with the sideyard provision of the ordinance <br />violates as modified, providing that the west wall of said building be <br />side yard two feet from the westerly line of tg~dproperty. After a full <br />provision discussion of the matter, Cartwright moved that the C]e rk be <br />authorized to send official notice to the owners of the property <br />in question, notifying them that their present building is in <br />violation of sideyard requirements established when the building <br />permit was authorized, and that they be instructed to correct <br />the violation. Seconded by Utecht and motion carried unanimously. <br />Public Safety Don Arndt reported on the Public Safety committee's meeting on <br />committee June 7, 1956 with State Highway Traffic Director, Mr. J.E.P.Darrell, <br />report - traffic and County~Praffic Engineer, Mr. William Chenoweth, regarding traffic <br />problems problems especially at Snelling and Larpenteur avenues. Mr. Arndt <br />reported that all members of the committee were present, including <br />Milton Bohn, Neil Gordon, Earl Grumke and Arndt. Arndt said the <br />Committee's recommendations were as follows: (1) Provide a wider <br />area north of Larpenteur and west of the National Tea Store for <br />bus stop and discharging of passengers; (2) installation of a guard <br />rail between the service lane and-National Tea property; (3) additional <br />.sidewalks in shopping center on south side of Larpenteur. Arndt <br />said the Committee recommended speed zoning on Fairview avenue of <br />lt0 miles per hour as based on a recent survey completed by t he-County <br />Traffic Engineer. For controlling traffic from Snelling avenue <br />thru the Maple Knoll area, the Committee recommended establishing of <br />one-way traffic on Maple Knoll drive and Garden avenue. Arndt said <br />this recommendation was made after study by the ICna~t~r~'raffic <br />Engineer and the Committee of a suggestion by some residents to <br />barricade the entrance to Maple Knoll from Snelling. The council <br />agreed to refer the latter recommendation to the Maple Knoll Citizens' <br />committee for the purpose of determining the wishes of the me~ority <br />of residents in that area.
