It was proposed to install a 250-watts base trans- <br /> mitterl~with a 150-ft antenna, the radio to be manned 2Lt hours a day <br /> by personnel of the Sheriff's department, with the idea of having <br /> all of the Ramsey County surburban police and sheriff's force on <br /> one system. Mr. Bohn's letter stated that assistant County <br /> Attorney Robert G. Flynn, advised that there is no law that allows <br /> the County of Ramsey to sell services to the Villages, so an <br /> enabling legislative act would. have to be passed in order to hook <br /> all of them on. Costs to the Village were estimated at $250.00 <br /> a year for the first car, $100.00 a year for each additional car <br /> and $450.00 per set. <br />Proposed im- Mr. Walter F. After a full discussion of matters pertaining to <br /> the property and proposed improvements as agreed to by Mr. Step- <br /> nitz, Stewart moved that Mayor Utecht and Trustee Shavor be <br /> appointed as representatives of the Council to meet with the <br /> Citizens committee of the area and inform them that Mr. Stepnitz <br /> is agreeable to making the folloxing improvements on said property <br /> fronting on Arona: Seconded by Cartxri~t and motion carried <br /> unanimously - <br /> (1) Establish a buffer zone of 20 ft. for screen playing, consist- <br /> ing of Lombardys and Lilacs. <br /> (2) That the additional 80 ft. north of the buffer zone be .graded <br /> and maintained in grass with no parking until such time as permission <br /> is given by the Village council. <br /> (3) That sidewalk and curbing be installed on the west side of <br /> Arona, and buffer zone of 20 f t. planted to trees as named in <br /> paragraph (1). <br /> (4) The alley to be an entrance only off Arona with all exits on <br /> Snelling drive properly marked. <br /> (5) That there will be no parking for tlhe purpose of shopping <br /> at rear of the store. Parking shall be for tenants and their <br /> employees only. <br /> (6) Install catch basis directly south of the north and. south <br /> alley in the buffer zone. <br />
