~~s~~4; <br />Citizens meeting Mayor Utecht's report of July 10, 1956 xas read rela tine to <br />re property west meeting he and Trustee Shavor held vrith some 23 citizens <br />of Arona between regarding the property zest of Arona between Larpenteur and <br />Larpenteur and Idaho avenues. The report stated that the citizens were <br />Idaho unanimous in rejecting the plan offered by Mr. Stepnitz <br /> and offered a number of suggestions which the citizens <br /> committee felt should be carried out xith respect to the <br /> property. After some discussion, Cartwright moved that <br /> the report be referred to Trustee Shavor and our Village <br /> attorney for study and recommendation. Seconded by Stexart <br /> atxi motion carriedx unanimously. <br />Bldg. code Building contractor, Irvin Grudem, 635 N. Prior, St Paul, <br />violation discussed appeared before the council to discuss matters pertaining <br />with Contractor to the building at 1790 West Larpenteur, pending compliance <br />Irvin Grudem xith the sideyard provision of the ordinance as modified, <br /> and the Village Council's letter of June 28, 1956, to the <br /> owners of the property in this connection. Minutes of May <br /> 9, 1956, with respect to action taken on the request for <br /> variance in the side yard provisions of Section 10 of Ordinance <br /> No. 8, to permit the rest xall of said building to be placed <br /> two feet from the rest line of the properly at 1790 West <br /> Larpenteur, was read for Mr. Grudem's information.. It xas <br /> then agreed that no further action on this matter xill be taken <br /> until the council's August 8, 1956 meeting, at which time Mr. <br /> Grudem will report back to the meeting. <br />Alley oiling G.S. Seaborn, 1423 Iowa Avenue West, asked the council to <br />requested by authorize oiling of the alley which opens on Albert and <br />Seaborn Pascal between Idaho and Ioxa avenues, the understanding <br /> being that an amount sufficient to cover cost of the xork <br /> would be deposited with the Village Treasurer. Mr. Seaborn <br /> then turned ever to the Village $40.00 which the County <br /> estimated would cover cost of oiling the alley to a xidth <br /> of 12 feet. The Clerk xas then asked to place the necessary <br /> xork order. <br />Streets and Vernon L. Ljungren, of our Village Engineer's staff,. appeared <br />alleys before the council to report on the status of xork being done <br /> on streets and alleys. He said the xork order and plan for <br /> correcting the drainage at Arona aryl California avenues had <br /> bean placed, and that xork on this project xill be done along <br /> with other street maintenance, including patching, filling of <br /> lox spots to promote drainage, and. oil seal coating of alleys. <br />Dirt purchased After discussion, Utecht moved that Trustee Nilsen be authorized <br />for zest slope to purchase 550 yards of dirt from the Mobile Crane Construction <br />of Village Hall Company at 30 cents per cubic yard, this to include dozing xork <br />property in connection with using the dirt as fill on the slope zest of <br />the Village Hall. Shavor seconded and motion carried unanimously. <br />i~ <br />
