<br />"On Sale" beer licenses at State Fair ground locations
<br />named in the applications and sffigned by the following:

<br />On motion by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen, it was voted to
<br />approve said applications.
<br />Gas main, Fry Request of the Northern States Power Company to install
<br />between, Maple gas mains in Fry street between Maple Knoll and Larpenteur
<br />Knoll & Larp. avenue was approved on motion by Nilsen, seconded by Utecht.
<br />Tree Trimming Copy of Attorney Graham's letter of July 31, 1956, outlining
<br />the procedure to be followed in connection with trimming of
<br />boulevard trees in the Village and assessment of costs, was
<br />read. In connection with the first step; namely, the
<br />resolution to be passed by the council determining on what
<br />streets the trees are to be trimmed and the nature of the work
<br />to be done on the trees, Utecht moved that the matter be
<br />referred to Trustee Cartwright with request that# the
<br />information if possible be made available for the August
<br />22, 1956, council meeting. Seconded by Stewart and motion
<br />carried. Trustee Nilsen said he would also check on the
<br />matter with Mr. Schultz.
<br />Local improvement Copy of letter from our attorney under date of July 27, 1956,
<br />procedure summarizing the statute covering local improvement procedure
<br /> with reference to cons trotting or improving any street, alley,
<br /> sidewalk, gutters, curbs, etc., was read. As a means of
<br /> informing interested citizens regarding the step-by-step
<br /> procedure, the Clerk was asked to include it with other
<br /> council meeting items in the Village Hi-Lites.
<br />Load limit, Engineer Ljungren's letter of August 8 was read, recommending
<br />Arona between placing a restriction of 10,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight
<br />Crawford and on Arona street between Larpenteur and Crawford avenues, based
<br />Larpenteur. on the Village attorney's ~$tte~~advisin g that the statute
<br /> authorizes the Village to do so. After discussion, Nilsen
<br /> moved that said section of street be posted against a gross
<br /> weight on any single axle exceeding three tons, also that "No
<br /> Dumping" signs be installed at the drainage ages, Idaho and
<br /> Snelling, one sign at the southwest corner of the pond and
<br /> one sign on Idaho. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried.
<br />Maple Knoll On motion by Nilsen, seconded by Utecht, it was voted to
<br />traffic survey make request on the Board of County Commissioners that
<br /> the County Traffic Engineer make a complete survey of traffic
<br /> on streets in the Maple Knoll area.
