~(~( <br />Grudem bldg. Attorney Graham's letter of August 7, 1956 was read regarding <br />matter, 1790 Mr. Irvin Grudem, of Grudem Brothers Company, reporting back <br />W. Larpenteur to the council on the building code matter at 1790 W. Larpenteur <br /> on August 22 instead of August 8, 1956. i <br />Insurance The Clerk reported that no bids had been received on insurance <br /> coverage for the Village asadvertised, since it had been agreed <br /> informally to revise the specifications to provide for broader <br /> insurar~ce protection. Also letter of July 27 from William H. <br />' <br /> Hite;~~re <br />~erring to renewal of the Comprehensive Automobile <br /> Liability Policy and the Automobile Physical Damage Policy which <br /> expired July 25, 1956, and stating he xould provide this coverage <br /> without charge to the Village until such time as nex coverages <br /> are placed as per the bid letting of September 1st, providing <br /> there are no accidents or claims. For any time after September <br /> 1, the Clerk reported Mr. Hite as saying the Village would. be <br /> subject to billing on the basis of the short term rate. After <br /> discussion, Stewart moved that resident representatives of <br /> insurance. companies as suggested be asked to meet as a committee <br /> to advise the council on preparing specifications covering the <br /> insurance protection needed by the Villagewith the request that <br /> the Committee submit its report as early in September as possible. <br /> Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried. <br />Proposed letter A proposed letter to Mr. Stepnitz was read listing specific <br />re property west requirements to be met by the oxners of the property west of <br />of Arona and Arona and south of the business district prior to any rezoning <br />south of Larpenteur. consideration of the said property, It was agreed to refer <br />the proposed letter, together xith a map of the area, to <br />Attorney Hart for checking and report. <br />Blacktopping Trustee Nilsen reported on the proposed }~lacktopping of the <br />V.H. Par king Village Hall and Fire Station grounds, submitting a sketch <br />area prepared by Engineer Ljungren with two proposals, one for <br />Area A, including 1400 sq. yds. with 2" bituminous hot mix <br />parking lot surfacing W $1.60 per sq. yd. or X2,240; and one <br />for Area B, 1150 sq. yds. f~ X1.60 per sq. yd. or ~1,8lt0 - <br />above prices including shaping of the parking area to drain, <br />working in loose gravel on top, priming the base. and placing <br />2-inch plant-mix bituminous surfacings. Nilsen also reported <br />on the work being done on our streets and alleys. <br />Voting booths The Clerk reported that additional voting booths would be needed <br />in Election District No. 3, beginning with the General Election <br />in November. It was agreed that the Clerk should check with the <br />City of Minneapolis to see if that City will not have a supply <br />of voting booths for sale prior to the general election if as <br />reported th ey are going to install voting machines. <br />Adjournment: On motion, the meeting adjourned at 10:28 P.M. <br />CA <br />Approved: <br />ayor <br />
