Stepnitz Agency <br />Transportation to Columbia Transportation Company, St Paul, asking the latter to <br />Co. parking discontinue parking their bus #!t6 behind the Associated Investors <br /> business property on the basis that the lot is restricted to employee <br /> parking only. <br />League's Circular letter from the League of Minnesota Municipalities relative <br />Regional to the 1956 series of regional meetings sponsored by the League, <br />meetings September 2!t to October 25, a~~_,read. Proposal to attend the <br /> meeting at Anoka set for October 11, was discussed. <br />County Circular led~ter from Wesley (Bud) Chandler relative to the agreement <br />Police reached by suburban communities relative to the Ramsey County police <br />radio radio communication system. The proposal calls for installation by <br /> the sheriff's office of an adequate radio station at the County <br /> tool house for 2!~-hour answering dispatching service with ~eo3i~a~pe~sonael, <br /> requiring five additional deputy sheriffs, the County to bear half of <br /> the estimated cost, or X10,000, the other half, or $10,000 to be paid <br /> by Civil Defense. Participating communities numbering about 10, including <br /> Falcon Heights,~could then be on the same radio system. Proposed charges <br /> were adjusted to X300.00 per year for the first unit and 9100.00 for <br /> each additional car. After discussion, the following resolution was <br /> adopted by a unanimous vote, on motion by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen- <br /> copy to be forwarded to County Commissioner Lucille Blank - <br /> WHEREAS, the Village Council, Village of Falcon Heights, <br /> has recognized the advantages of integrating all police services <br /> to avoid duplication of units responding to a-call; and <br />WHEREAS, this community recognizes the advantages of <br />calling upon neighboring communities for assistance in cases of <br />disaster. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this community go on <br />record as endorsing the acquisition by the Sheriff's department <br />of a radio system capable of allowing all police departments and <br />communities to avail themselves of its facilities. <br />Insurance The Clerk reported meeting with seven resident representatives of <br />Committee insurance companies on Tuesday evening, Auguat 28, 1956, who are <br /> to advise the council on preparing specifications coverin ~in <br />surance <br /> - <br />protection needed by the Village. The Clerk reported that ~g~n <br /> Matteson and Rudolph W. Wolfgram, Sr., were appointed by the committee <br /> to prepare specifications as recommended by the committee for submission <br /> to the council at its September 26, 1956 meeting. The Clerk also <br /> reported on suggestions received from the Insurance committee as to <br />~¢e8 we may secure for our Fire Department its rightful share of the <br /> 2 per cent premium tax on fire insurance policies. <br />Fuel oil Letter was read from the Thorne Coal & Oil Company, quoting a rate <br />bids of .119 cents per gaL3~on on No. 2 fuel oil for the Village Hall and <br /> Fire Station for the 1956-195? heating season on a keep-fill basis. <br /> Also letter from the Snelling Company was read, quoting a rate of <br />
