<br />Fuel oil .133 cents a gallon on said fu~1 oil requirements, Utecht. moved
<br /> that the low bid submitted by Thorne Coal and Oil Company be
<br /> accepted. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Police A special committee appointed earlier this year to make a study of
<br />Committee our police system submitted its report to the council. Mayor
<br />reports Utecht also submitted a separate report on the matter. Members
<br /> of the committee, who were present, were: Messrs. Edwin Johnson,
<br /> Paul Co~rpini and William Olsen. The reports, which were read,
<br /> recommended. a four-man, full time police force to repl ace the
<br /> present three part-time police officers. Recommended salaries
<br /> were $400 monthly for a police chief and $375 monthly for each of
<br /> three full-time policemen. Also proposed was purchase of a squad
<br /> car equipped with two way radio. Total cost to the Village was
<br /> estimated at $21,800.00 less estimated fines of $11,500.00. After
<br /> some discussion, the council agreed to hold the reports over for
<br /> further study with the idea of developing additional information.
