<br />Meeting called to order at 7:110 P.M., the following council members being present:
<br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee;
<br />Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present - William E.
<br />Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes of September 12, 1956 meeting were heard and approved as read.
<br />On motion by Stewart, seconded by Utecht, the following bills were ordered paid:

<br />Sanitary Messrs. N. L. Hermes and Nick Labalestra appeared before the
<br />Seger council with their engineer, Mr. Roger Short, of Bannister
<br />connection Engineering, for. the purpose of finding out how they may
<br /> connect into the existing sanitary sewer system on Snelling
<br /> Avenue. Since the area is part of the district to be served
<br /> by the Village's proposed sanitary sewer system, Messrs Hermes,
<br /> Labalestra and Short were asked to take the matter up, including
<br /> the question of assessments, with Mr. Duvall of our sanitary
<br /> sewer engineering firm.
<br />MGI License #82 On motion by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen, the issuance of
<br />Master Gas Installer's license No. 82 as of September 11, 1956,
<br />to the Oil Burner Service Company, 1163 Fairview Avenue North,
<br />St Paul, Minnesota, was approved.
<br />Grudem bldg. Mr. Irvin Grudem, of Grudem Brothers Company, appeared before
<br />1790 W. Larp. the council as requested to do so at our August 22, 1956 meeting.
<br /> Mr. Grudem informed the council that they have a real estate
<br /> firm working on the matter of finding a tenant for the proposed
<br /> build ing at 1790 West Larpenteur, that they have some prospects
<br /> but nothing definite as yet. Mr. Grudem asked for an extension
<br /> of titAe, After discussion, Cartwright moved that the time be
<br /> extended Eor working out the matter and that Mr. Grudem be
<br /> requested to report back to the council at its November 11t, 1956
<br /> meeting. Seconded by Shavor-and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Engineering Letter of September 21, 1956, from Bonestroo ~ Elliott, Inc.,
<br />consultants of St Paul, regarding consulting engineering services they are
<br /> in position to offer the Village, was read and ordered filed.
<br />Cities The Clerk said he received a report from Public Safety Supervisor
<br />Service
<br />sign Don Arndt relative to inspecting the proposed sign at the
<br />Cities Service Oil Station at Larpenteur and Snelling avenues.
<br /> -Arndt reported there will be no glare from the light in connection
<br /> with the sign and that no traffic hazard is involved. He also
<br /> pointed out that a similar sign is now located at the Standard
<br /> Oil station diagonallyacross the intersection from Cities Service.
<br /> On motion by Utecht, seconded by Shavor, the Cities Service Oil
<br /> Company's application to eject the sign was authorized.
