~ 1 ~~ <br />Fire Fire Chief Grumke's letter was read. relative to the Minneapolis <br />Prevention Fire Department inviting our department to participate in a <br />parade, fire prevention parade beginning at 8 F.M., in downtown <br />Mills. Minneapolis, October 8. The Chief said he would like to <br />ask some of our volunteer firemen to accompany Engine #2 <br />in the parade, and. that absence from the Village would be <br />about 2a hours. Cartwright moved that the Fire Chief's <br />request be app roved and that our volunteer firemen participants <br />be paid on the basis of drill time. Seconded by Utecht and <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Fireman The Fire Chief reported that Fireman Ray Merkel appears ill <br />Ray and that he should be hospitalized. Stewart moved that <br />Merkel Trustee Cartwright be appointed to confer with the Fire <br />Chief on the matter and to make whatever arrangements are <br />necessary with a doctor. Seconded by Utecht and motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Budget It was agreed that the matter of .setting up a budget for <br />the coming year would be an order of business at the special <br />meeting, October 8, 1956, beginning at 8:30 P.M. <br />Adjournment: On motion the meeting adjourned at 12 midnite. <br />./'~ ~ ~`~ <br />1 erk <br />Approved: <br />ayor <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
