<br />Sanitary Mr. Arndt J. Duvall, representing our sanitary sewer engineers,
<br />Sewer Toltz, King, Duvall, Anderson & Associates, Inc., of St Paul,
<br />Report submitted a report on the progress of the Village's sanitary
<br />sewer project. The matter of authorizing our sanitary Sewer
<br />engineers to incur additional fees in order that they may
<br />prepare cost estimates for a public hearing to be held at a
<br />later date, was discussed. Copies of the ordinance passed
<br />by the Council, City of St Paul, granting permission and
<br />authority to Falcon Heights to connect to St Paul's public
<br />serer system, were presented to all members of the council.
<br />Resolution On motion by Nilsen, seconded by Stewart, the following
<br />resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote:
<br />RESOLVED, that the Village Council authorize Toltz, King, Duvall,
<br />Anderson & Associates, to incur fees up to the total sum of
<br />~lt,000.00, including all fees paid in accordance with the
<br />contract dated May 25, 1955, it being understood that all fees
<br />so paid will be credited on the minimum fee schedule if the
<br />Village goes ahead with the sewer system and Toltz, King, Duvall,
<br />Anderson & Associates are the engineers employed by the Village.
<br />Sewer project, In connection with considering the construction of a sanitary
<br />Fiscal Agent sewer system in the Village and the matter of financing the
<br />matter same, the question of writing to various firms who are
<br /> interested in assisting the Village in financing the proposed
<br /> project was discussed. It was proposed to give each firm
<br />represented ten minutes to describe their services and charges,
<br /> and to ask each for written summaries of this information.
<br /> Utecht moved, seconded by Shavor that a letter be written
<br /> as proposed to interested fiscal agents, advising them that
<br /> the council will hold a special meeting at 7:00 P.M., Monday,
<br /> October 8, 1956, at the Village Hall, at which representatives
<br /> of interested firms will be heard. Motion carried unanimously.
<br />Voting booths The matter of securing additional voting booths, especially
<br /> for k~ection District 3 at the Falcon Heights grade school,
<br /> was reported on by Stewart and Shavor. It was reported that
<br /> the needed booths could be had, possibly on a rental basis,
<br /> from Roseville.
<br />Counting Board, The matter of appointing a Counting Board for each of our
<br />Nov.b, 1956 three election districts at the General Election, November 6,
<br />election 1956, as per Section 205.50, Minnesota Election Laws, was
<br />discussed.
<br />Fire alarm Letters from Marsh & McLennan, of Minneapolis, and our Fire
<br />syst. install- Chief relative to installing an automatic system for transmitting
<br />ation an alarm direct to our fire department from a proposed
<br /> computer center building in Lauderdale, calling for signal
<br /> indicating equipment in our Fire Station, were read. Cartwright
<br /> moved that the Clerk write a letter to Marsh & McLennan, Inc.,
<br />of Minneapolis, indicating the Village would be willing to allow
<br /> the installation of afire alarm system as outlined in their
<br /> letter, but would not require an annunciator board but would
<br /> recommend its use as it would aid our firemen, with the under-
<br /> standing that this permission may be terminated by the Village
<br /> on 10 days' notice. Seconded by Utecht and motion carried
<br /> unanimously.
