r+ <br />9 ~~ <br />REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2l~, 1956 <br />P,~eeting called to order at 7:35 P.M., the following council members being present: <br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; <br />Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: William E. Olsen, <br />Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney. <br />Minutes of Public Hearin, October 10, 1956, and Regulaa Meeting, October 10, 1956, <br />were heard and approved as read. <br />Regn.#93 covering postage stamps and other office supplies needed by <br />Clerk, was approved on motion by Utecht, seconded by Cartwright. <br />Regn.#94 for 1 case Banox, 1000 Fire Dept. phone stickers, etc. was <br />approved on motion. by Utecht, seconded by Cartwright. <br />MGI Issuance of Master Gas Installer's license No. 86 to Associated <br />License#86 Mechanical Services of St Paul, ~Jiinnesota, as of October 1, 1956, <br />was approved on motion by Utecht, seconded by Stewart. <br />Metropolitan Letter of October ~, 1956, from the Suburban Building Department <br />Bldg. Code Administration relative to studies being conducted by the <br />committee Tetropolitan Building Code Committee for arriving at one code <br />wh ich can be recommended for adoption by metropolitan area <br />municipalities, was read. The letter and report covering the <br />Committee's first two meetings were referred to Trustee Shavor. <br />Snow plowing Copy of letter dated October 16, 1956 to our Village Engineer <br />request from the County Engineer's office, relative to preparing request <br />for street snawipiowing,.was read. Agreed that Trustee Nilsen <br />and Street Commissioner Christensen should check with Village <br />Engineer Carley regarding the matter. <br />Hal Newell L etter from Fire Chief Earl Grumke was read, relative to the <br />action taken by the members of the Falcon Heights Volunteer <br />Fire Department on October 23, 19.56, in accord with Ordinance <br />No. 38, Section 7, "as to whether the suspension of Hal Newell <br />as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department should be permanent <br />or not, with a total of 18 votes cast and with 17 "Yes" and one <br />ballot not marked. In accord with the letter, Utecht moved. that <br />the Clerk advise Mr. Newell of the action taken and that he be <br />requested to turn in to our Fire Department all Village-owned <br />fire equipment in his possession. Seconded by Shavor and motion <br />carried. unanimously. <br />Policeman Letter from Policeman Henry J. Dachtera was read, relating to <br />Dachtera's his request for a complete uniform to match in color that worn <br />request for by members of the sheriff's force. Utecht moved that the request <br />uniform be referred to our Public Safety Committee for checking with the <br />sheriff's office and police departmen is in surrounding communities <br />as to clothing allowances incurred, and if possible that the Committee <br />submit its recommendation to the council by November 7. Seconded by <br />Stewart and motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />
