r+ 9 ~~ REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2l~, 1956 P,~eeting called to order at 7:35 P.M., the following council members being present: William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: William E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney. Minutes of Public Hearin, October 10, 1956, and Regulaa Meeting, October 10, 1956, were heard and approved as read. Regn.#93 covering postage stamps and other office supplies needed by Clerk, was approved on motion by Utecht, seconded by Cartwright. Regn.#94 for 1 case Banox, 1000 Fire Dept. phone stickers, etc. was approved on motion. by Utecht, seconded by Cartwright. MGI Issuance of Master Gas Installer's license No. 86 to Associated License#86 Mechanical Services of St Paul, ~Jiinnesota, as of October 1, 1956, was approved on motion by Utecht, seconded by Stewart. Metropolitan Letter of October ~, 1956, from the Suburban Building Department Bldg. Code Administration relative to studies being conducted by the committee Tetropolitan Building Code Committee for arriving at one code wh ich can be recommended for adoption by metropolitan area municipalities, was read. The letter and report covering the Committee's first two meetings were referred to Trustee Shavor. Snow plowing Copy of letter dated October 16, 1956 to our Village Engineer request from the County Engineer's office, relative to preparing request for street snawipiowing,.was read. Agreed that Trustee Nilsen and Street Commissioner Christensen should check with Village Engineer Carley regarding the matter. Hal Newell L etter from Fire Chief Earl Grumke was read, relative to the action taken by the members of the Falcon Heights Volunteer Fire Department on October 23, 19.56, in accord with Ordinance No. 38, Section 7, "as to whether the suspension of Hal Newell as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department should be permanent or not, with a total of 18 votes cast and with 17 "Yes" and one ballot not marked. In accord with the letter, Utecht moved. that the Clerk advise Mr. Newell of the action taken and that he be requested to turn in to our Fire Department all Village-owned fire equipment in his possession. Seconded by Shavor and motion carried. unanimously. Policeman Letter from Policeman Henry J. Dachtera was read, relating to Dachtera's his request for a complete uniform to match in color that worn request for by members of the sheriff's force. Utecht moved that the request uniform be referred to our Public Safety Committee for checking with the sheriff's office and police departmen is in surrounding communities as to clothing allowances incurred, and if possible that the Committee submit its recommendation to the council by November 7. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried unanimously.
