<br />Mr. Geor~e Bauman, of George Bauman & Gfompar~y, 123 South Leacington,
<br />proposed and Mr. John J. Sullivan, 195? Jefferson, St Paul, xere heard regarding
<br /> plans for establishing a motel on the premises at 163l~ and 1642 North
<br /> Snelling and 15b1 West Idaho. Mr. Bauman, owner of the property, said
<br /> the buildings would be unchanged excepting for the installation of a
<br /> motel sign, and that the area in the rear of the buildings is adequate
<br /> for customer parking. He said it is proposed to start motel operations
<br /> next spring. After discussion, IItecht moved that the matter be referred
<br /> to our Planning Commission for study and report. Seconded by Cartwright
<br /> and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Xmas tree Application to sell Christmas trees on the-lot adjoining 1702 N.
<br />license Snelling, together xith check for X10.00 covering license fee, xas
<br />received from Mr.Joseph E. Spargur, 318 E. Robie Street, St Paul.
<br />IItecht moved that the application be approved sbb~ect to report from
<br />the Village attorney that taxes on the property are paid up. Cartwright
<br />seconded and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Juvenile Letter of November 13 xas read from the City and County Detention sad
<br />Detention Workhouse Facility Commission, inviting Village representatives and
<br />Home members of our police force to attend ground-breaking ceremonies for
<br />the nex Juvenile Detention Home, on Monday, November 19, 195b, at
<br />2:30 P.M., near Dale and Larpenteur. Utecht moved that the invitation
<br />be referred to our Public Safety committee. Seconded by Cartwright
<br />and so ordered.
