Contractor, Irvin Grudem, <br />Bldg. 635 N. Prior, St Paul, again appeared before the council to report on <br />1790 W. the building matter at 1790 Y~. Larpenteur. Mr. Gruden said theJ had <br />Larpenteur tried advertising and putting up signs to try and interest some firm <br /> in the building but without success. Mr. Grudem said they xere nox <br /> concerned with a nvaher of problems with respect to the .unfinished <br /> building because of winter coming on and possible damage from freezing, <br /> and requested permission to back-fill and protect the foundation. <br /> Utecht moved that permission be given Mr. Grudem to do anything necessary <br /> to protest the building from exposure during the winter months, such work <br /> to be done sub3ect to the building inspector's approval, and that lbs. <br /> Grudem be regnestedto report back to the council on January 23, 1957. <br /> Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />Bal. due Statement.covering balance of X155.25 due the Leslie H. Johnson-Heating <br />Leslie H. Co., for remodeling the Village Hall heating system, was discussed. <br />Johnson It was agreed to hold the bill over until checking has been completed. <br />Heating Co. <br />~~ ~ Credit of X85 due the General Fund for Bell and Light station <br />Light installation, of which X60.00 had been applied to the Fire Maintenance <br />sta. credit ~~ phone bill, was discussed. It was agreed that transfer of X60.00 <br />to General from the Fire Maintenance fund to the General Fund should be arranged. <br />Fund. <br />The Clerk reported that according to Don Arndt, the Fire Department <br />Fire Equipt. equipment belonging to the Village, such as rain coat, boots and <br />turned in .helmet, had been recovered from Hal Newell as per the council's <br />by Hat request of November ?. A detailed list of the returned equipment <br />Newell rill be listed in Officer Kenneth Schmidt's report. <br />In accord with the council's request in the minutes of October 2lt, 1956, <br />a proposal in the form of a letter dated; November 1lt, 1956, from Briggs, <br />Gilbert, 1[orton, Kyle and Idacartney, of St Paul, was received and read, <br />relative to the handling of details of the proposed sanitary sewer bond. <br />issue for the Village. ~t . <br />~. i <br />1 <br />Permanent The proposed setting up of a system of permanent registration of <br />Registration voters was discussed. The matter was referred to our attorney for <br />checking and report. <br />Fire After discussion xith Fire Chief Grumke as to fire inspections made <br />inspections by our paid firemen, Stewart moved that the Fire Chief be asked to <br />submit a letter with a prepared schedule and his recommendation as <br />to how inspections should be handled, showing a division of inspection <br />areas. Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried. unanimously. <br /> <br />
