<br />at~the Minnesota Club in St. Paul with,~spreseata`t~ ;~~be Univer-
<br />~ sity of Minnesota and the hoard of Reg~hta, ~tp®nap,~s.,- ~ ator Ander-
<br />sen . Mayor Ut~bt, Trustee Shavor, Clerk Stewart ~i~hd .. hL ~ ersigned
<br />represented the Village of Falcon i[eights . The Univo3ty of Mit7~esmta
<br />v~:s represented mfr president Morrill, Nice President `~+Ii ebro®k; ~1'~eais
<br />Macy and Dean Fenske, both of the Farm School. The 1~8tbf Nej~!i~s
<br />was represented by 4hair~pan~Quinlivin and Regent p1saA. 3enator.~de~=
<br />sen was also present.4
<br />~ After dim~er there was a discussion of the University of
<br />Minnesota s relati ~Mith tl~e Village of Falcon ~Ieights. Mayor l~techt
<br />pointed out that t~ !~ ~.lrersity of Minnesota and the Fair C#rounds ©c-
<br />;copied over two-th the area of the Village and that tie recent
<br />condemnations 1AStituted by the University with respect'to the Keller
<br />property bad caused the Village council great coneern.~i~`Me pointed out
<br />that the lard involved in the. condemnation was in the only area left
<br />in the Village for coa~nercial development and that if it'w®rs all taken
<br />by the University, the Village would not have any area left for socb
<br />development.`' Ne pointed out that as the University condeernec'taxable
<br />roperty it~- creased the. tax burden on the remaining propert~.es in the

<br />that the University had recently had a careful survey made which indi-
<br />cated that the University would have almost 50,000 students by 1970
<br />.with a gradual growth to that number between 1956 and 1970, The legis-
<br />lature expects the University to grow and to plan so that it can ac-
<br />commodate that number of students in 1970. With this in mind, the
<br />University has made long range plans which at the present time indicate
