s43 <br />REGULl~R MEETING, WEDNESDAY, NOVENBER 28, 1956 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Acting Mayor Shavor, the follaRing members <br />of the council being present:. George J. Shavor, Acting Mayor; David P. Cartwright, <br />Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen., Trustee; and Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Mayor William R. <br />Utecht arrived at the meeting at 8:20 P.M. and conducted the meeting from then <br />until 10 P.M. Also present: William E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, <br />Attorney. <br />Variance Mr. Irvin Grudem, of Grudem Brothers Co., St Paul, and his <br />petition attorney, Conrad Sheets, of St Paul, appeared before the council <br />re bldg., and submitted a petition requesting a variance in the sideyard <br />1790 West provisions of the ordinance to permit building at 1790 West <br />Larpentear Larpenteur u_p to th ado ~t}g rgpe~y a C1 rk ea the <br />petition,~siffii~~d ~r~~~itf~,~. ~~~f~;"YBGD'W~s~r~e~~~~~nc~o. <br />Kellers Adrian Keller, rho xere-also present at the meeting, objected <br />ob3ect to the building of the wall on the line and to the two-foot <br /> setback previously permitted by the council. In this connection, <br /> letters were read, one from Mrs. Keller to the Village Council, <br /> dated November 19, 1956, and one from her attorney, D. D. Wozniak, <br /> dated November 27, 1956, enclosing copy of their letter to <br /> Grudem Brothers Company, asking that the present ormers remove <br /> all encroachments closer than 5 feet from the boundary line of <br /> Mrs. Kelley's property. <br />Petition referred After discussion, Cartwright moved that the petition of Beim <br />to Planning Znvestmem Company and Grudem Brothers Company be referred to <br />Commission to the Planning Commission For a public hearing as required by <br />Ordinance No. 16, also other correspondence and material in <br />this connection so the Planning Commission may have the full <br />picture; and further, that Mr. Grudem be required to submit <br />a survey signed by a registered surveyor giving the building <br />layout and showing the building, wall and footings in relation <br />to the property line; and further, when the public hearing is . <br />set, that the Planning Commission send a special notice of the <br />hearing to Mrs. Christina R. Keller and to Mr. Grudem. Seconded <br />by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />'Gas Inspector's After discussion of gas equipment installation fees with Village <br />fees Gas Inspector Elwood D. Larson, .including average and lay e <br />installations, Utecht moved that where the permit fee is 10.00 <br />or less, the inspector should receive $1.00 less than the permit <br />fee; and on all installations where the permit fee is more than <br />X10.00, that he receive 80 per cent of the permit feast. Seconded <br />by Stewart and motion carried unanimously. <br />Po*er Co. Cartwright moved that the attorney be asked to prepare a letter <br />requested to for the Mayor's signature, requesting Northern States Power Company <br />give Village to grant natural gas users in the Village of Falcon Heights the <br />gas users same same rate as charged users in the City of St Paul. Seconded by <br />rate as St Paul Stewart add motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />._ <br /> <br />
