<br />REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, JANUARY 2lt, 195?
<br />Ms~ting called to order at 7:30 P.M.,~the folloxing council members being present:
<br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, trustee;
<br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Clyde J. Stexart, Clerk., Also present: William E.
<br />Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes of regular meeting, January 9, 1957, xfre heard. and approved as read.
<br />Donald W. Schoen After discussion, Utecht moved that Donald W. Schoen be employed
<br />employed as as paid fireman at the rate of $275.00 per month, effective
<br />paid fireman beginning January 7, 195?. Seconded by Warkentien and motion
<br />carried unanimously.
<br />Grudem building In connection xith Building Contractor Irvin Grudem's scheduled
<br />matter appearance at our January 2!~ meeting, Attorney Graham reported
<br />on receiving a call from Mr. Grudem's attorney, stating that
<br />they xere near settlement of the matter and that Mr. Grudem
<br />xould like to be excused from attending the meeting. The
<br />council concurred in the request.
<br />Reqn. #100 for framed, cork bulletin board for posting place at the
<br />Falcon Heights Pharmacy, xas considered. Utecht moved
<br />approval, seconded by Shavor, and so .ordered.
<br />Reqn. #101 for 165 statement forms for the Treasurer, xas approved
<br />on motion by Shavor, seconded by Utecht.
<br />Reqn. #102 Fire department tank truck equipment, including gate valves,
<br />galvanized pipe caps, adapter, and aluminum molding, eras
<br />considered. Nilsen moved approval of the requisition at
<br />minimum .prices quoted on the listed items. Seconded by
<br />Warkentien and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Reqn. 103 for three single-bed type felt mattresses for cots in
<br />the Fire Department dormitory, xas approved on motion by
<br />Nilsen, seconded by Utecht.
<br />Filling Station Application of Leonard iN. Troup to operate a gasoline
<br />License No. SO filling station (Falcon Heights Cities Service) at 1670
<br />North Snelling Avenue, for the period January 2l~, 1957
<br />th ru June 30, 1957 together xith check for X17.00 covering
<br />pro rated license fee, xas received. Steuart moved approval
<br />of the application subject to required fire inspectionof
<br />the premises. Utecht seconded and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Clerk's Bond American Surety Company of NeR York bond for the Village
<br />Clerk in the amount of ~500.0o for a txo-year period, beginning
<br />January 1, 1957, at a total premium charge of X9.25, xas
<br />received. Approval voted unanimously on motion by Utecht,
<br />seconded by Warkentien.
<br />Water agreement The proposed agreement xith the Farmers Union Grain Terminal
<br />xith GTA. Association to December 27, 1957, for continuing xater extension
<br />from GTA property to the Village Hall, xas approved on motion by
<br />.Utecht, seconded by Stewart.
