Carley ~C Associates, effective <br />Carley & beginning February 15, 1957, and sub3ect to termination at any <br />Associates, time by the council. Seconded by Utecht and motion carried <br />(cont'd) unanimously. Mr. Steffes who was present indicated he would <br />check with Mr. L~ungren as to streets which have established <br />grades and those which have been surfaced over the years having <br />troublesome spots to be corrected. <br />Sanitary Attorney Graham reported on easAments on both the north and <br />sewer south. side of Larpenteur avenue which will be necessary to secure <br />matters for sanitary sewer construction. The matter of resurfacing <br />Fry street was discussed with Mr. Steffes. On recommendation <br />of Mr. Steffes it was agreed to take 10 or 15 soil borings in <br />different areas of the Village. <br />Bids - Police In response to the Village's advertisement, sealed bid proposals <br />Car on a new two-door sedan for police work, were opened. Bid proposal, <br />together with check for 10 per cent of the tendered bid, was <br />received from each of the following firms: <br />Clayton Anderson Motors; certified check, $165.00 <br />Downtown Ford Co., bid bond, $169.00 <br />Midway Chevrolet Co.; certified check, $197.00 <br />Jay Kline Chevrolet, Inc.; certified check, $202.85 <br />Koppy Motors, Inc.; certified check, $195.60 <br />Thornton Motors; certified check, $6190.59 <br />Grand Avenue Motor Co.; certified check, $165.80 <br />Stewart moved that the seven bid proposals be referred to Police <br />Commissioner Donald Arndt for tabulation and report at the council's <br />February 28, 1957 meeting. Seconded by Utecht and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. A.M. Steffes, of our sanitary sewer engineers, reported he <br />Air Conditioning had been informed by the Engineering Department, City of St Paul, <br />water not per- that air conditioning water would not be permitted in our <br />witted in Sewer sanitary sewer system. On Mr. Steffes' recommendation, the <br />following resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote on motion <br />by Utecht, seconded by Steuart: <br />Resolution RESOLVID, that in accord with the contract no air <br />conditioning water, either commercial or residential, shall <br />be discharged into the proposed sanitary sewer system for the <br />Village of Falcon Heights; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk be directed <br />to furnish a copy of this resolution to Mr. Arthur W. Tews, Chief <br />Engineer, Department of Public Works, City of Saint Pact, Minnesota. <br />Robert Rudd, The Clerk was also diracted to write Mr. Rudd who had made inquiry <br />1915 .Prior Ave. regarding the use of our proposed sanitary sewer for home air <br />conditioning units at the council's December 26, 1956 meeting, <br />advising him that the contract with the City of St Paul does <br />not permit such use. <br />Bills: On motion by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen, the following bills <br />were ordered paid: <br />Donald E.
