The Chief was asked to check and determine whether five missing chairs were wooden or metal chairs. Police and Fire Mayor Utecht's letter was read with reference to the proposed protection exchange of police protection for fire protection for western .exchange proposed areas in Roseville by our fire department, also proposal for mutual aid fire protection between the two villages. After some discussion, Stewart moved. that Trustees Warkentien and Nilsen, and Police Commissioner Don Arndt and Fire Chief Grumke be appointed as a committee to meet with Mr, Vern Heine, of Roseville, for discussion of the matter and report at our next meeting, Weed Inspector The matter of appointing a Village weed inspector for the year 1956 was considered. Stewart moved that the Appointment of Paul Coppini as said weed inspector be authorized. Seconded by Shavor, motion carried unanimously, and Paul Coppini declared duly appointed to~office. Building permits, Building Inspector Christensen submitted a report of building 1956 permits issued in 1956, numbering 90, including commercial and residential, with a total value of $1,353,287.00. Governor's Letter of February !~, .1957 was read, relative to the second Advisory Com. meeting of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Suburban meeting, 2-15 Problems, at 1Os30 A.M., February 15, 195?, in the State Office Building Auditorium. Agreed that Trustee 'Narkentien would attend if possible. Engineering Vernon L. L~ungren, of Milner W. Carley & Associates, appeared agreement with before the council and submitted a proposed agreement in writing Milner W. Carley based on the fact that our Village is undertaking more work and & Associates might require more time and service from our Village Engineer. A fee of ~1y0.00 per month was proposed as payment in full for the following services: (a) an engineer in attendance at all council meetings on request (b) all required correspondence and contacts of an engineering nature (c) all administrative engineering necessary in cooperating with the Village street commissioner (d) periodic inspections, reports and recommendations relative to street, sewer and related villa ge maintenance (e) cooperation with the Village Manning Commission at their request. Additional services, not included in the retainer fee: (a) 3-man survey party at $13 per hour; 2-man survey party, $11.00 per hour; draftsmen, X5.00 per hour. (b~ furnish plans, specifications and complete engineering service for arty and all projects placed under contract by the Village, charges to be based upon minimum standards for engineering fees
