~~ 8 (l <br />Firemen's moved that the letter be referred to Trustee Nilsen with the <br />salaries (cont'd) request that he, Trustee Warkentien and Treasurer Olsen bring <br />in their report and recommendations on the matter at our February <br />28, 1957 meeting. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />1956 inventory, Inventory for 1956 of Village property in the Village Hall and <br />V.H. & F.S. Fire Station was received, together with letter of certification <br />from Fire Chief Grumke under date of February 8, 1957. The Chief <br />was asked to check and determine whether five missing chairs were <br />wooden or metal chairs. <br />Police and Fire Mayor Utecht's letter was read with reference to the proposed <br />protection exchange of police protection for fire protection for western <br />.exchange proposed areas in Roseville by our fire department, also proposal for <br /> mutual aid fire protection between the two villages. After some <br /> discussion, Stewart moved. that Trustees Warkentien and Nilsen, <br /> and Police Commissioner Don Arndt and Fire Chief Grumke be appointed <br /> as a committee to meet with Mr, Vern Heine, of Roseville, for <br /> discussion of the matter and report at our next meeting, <br />Weed Inspector The matter of appointing a Village weed inspector for the year <br /> 1956 was considered. Stewart moved that the Appointment of <br /> Paul Coppini as said weed inspector be authorized. Seconded by <br /> Shavor, motion carried unanimously, and Paul Coppini declared <br /> duly appointed to~office. <br />Building permits, Building Inspector Christensen submitted a report of building <br />1956 permits issued in 1956, numbering 90, including commercial <br /> and residential, with a total value of $1,353,287.00. <br />Proposed lease Letter from Mr. Joseph E. Kroemer regarding the leasing of <br />of lot for sell- Lot 38, the Crossroads Addition, for displaying house trailers <br />ing house trailers for sale, was referred to our attorney for discussion with <br />Mr. Kroemer. <br />Governor's Letter of February !~, .1957 was read, relative to the second <br />Advisory Com. meeting of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Suburban <br />meeting, 2-15 Problems, at 1Os30 A.M., February 15, 195?, in the State Office <br />Building Auditorium. Agreed that Trustee 'Narkentien would <br />attend if possible. <br />Engineering Vernon L. L~ungren, of Milner W. Carley & Associates, appeared <br />agreement with before the council and submitted a proposed agreement in writing <br />Milner W. Carley based on the fact that our Village is undertaking more work and <br />& Associates might require more time and service from our Village Engineer. <br /> A fee of ~1y0.00 per month was proposed as payment in full for <br /> the following services: (a) an engineer in attendance at all <br /> council meetings on request (b) all required correspondence and <br /> contacts of an engineering nature (c) all administrative engineering <br /> necessary in cooperating with the Village street commissioner (d) <br /> periodic inspections, reports and recommendations relative to street, <br />sewer and related villa ge maintenance (e) cooperation with the <br /> Village Manning Commission at their request. Additional services, <br /> not included in the retainer fee: (a) 3-man survey party at $13 per <br /> hour; 2-man survey party, $11.00 per hour; draftsmen, X5.00 per hour. <br /> (b~ furnish plans, specifications and complete engineering service <br /> for arty and all projects placed under contract by the Village, <br /> charges to be based upon minimum standards for engineering fees <br />
