8'7 SPECIAL MEETING, THURSDAY, NIAARCH 7, 1957 Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M., with the following council. members present: William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: Frank N. Graham and Herna~r3 Friel, Village Attorneys. Absent: William E. Olsen, Treasurer No one wishing to have the minutes read, Utecht moved that reading of the minutes of February 28, 1957 be dispensed with and that said minutes be approved as written. Seconded by Shavor and so ordered. Sewer not Attorney Graham reported. that Charles J. Hawkins does not want wanted by the sealer put in in front of his property at about 2b21 Larpenteur Charles J. Avenue West. Said Mr. Hawkins stated he had no intention of Hawkins selling any of this property which is being used for nursery purposes. Attorney Graham will advise Mr. Hawkins that ho homes or buildings can be built on the property without sewer connections which must be paid for by the person developing the property. Police and On the matter of the proposed exchange of fire protection for Fire protection police protection from Roseville, Trustee Nilsen reported that exchange a meeting had been held with our police commissioner and par t proposed time police officers regarding the matter, also that a further discussionof the matter was being held this evening between our police commissioner and Roseville's chief of police. Nilsen indicated that recommendations would be presented at the council's March 11t, 1957 meeting. Septic tank, Mr. A. M. Steffes, of our sanitary sewer engineers, reported he Village Hall had been informed by A. V. Winterer that the septic tank is located on the east side of the building, approximately 50 ft. back from the front part of the building. Steffes said that a letter from the architect, Mr. Buetow, under date of July 30, 1949, authorized Mr. Winterer to install the septic tank at that location rather than in the rear of the building as shown on .the original plan, and that the stack is located on the east wall behind some cabinets in the room between the boiler room and the fire engine room. Village Hall Our sanitary sewer engineer's proposal is that the Village Hall sewer connection sewer connection be made with the Hollywood Court sewer father than bringing the sewer east from Fry Street along Larpenteur. Since this would involve the Village Hall sewer crossing FUGTA property, Attorney Graham was asked to see if the necessary easement could be obtained. Police Car Ordering of the police car from Clayton Anderson Motors was discussed with Police Commissioner Donald Arndt. The under- standing was that delivery of the car by May 1, 1957, should be requested. Arona-Calif In connection with the Village Engineer's recommendation of March drainage 7, 1957, for correcting drainage condition at Arona and California, Mr. Steffes stated that the proposal for the sewer contract and the specifications provide for reshaping of Arona avenue at California and Idaho avenues to correct the drainage condition, including an item of rolled curb for about 300 feet as suggested by ?,fir.
