(9N <br />Water in yards <br />and basements <br />Flooded base- <br />ments to be <br />pumped out <br />by Fire Dept. <br />Treasurer Olsen reported that because of the rain and frozen <br />condition of the ground, the property immediately south of <br />the Congregational Church is flooded and asked if the Village <br />could do anything about it. Warkentien reported that the <br />County had checked on this drainage problem a few years ago <br />which they found was caused by construction of the new church, <br />.and that the drainage problem could be solved by running a <br />shallow ditch on the south side of the wall from the low ,point <br />in the yard to the Hol ton Avenue gutter. 'Hater in some <br />basements was also reported and discussed. Utecht then moved <br />that the Fire Chief be instructed that the policy of the Fire <br />Department shall be to answer calls to pump out basements flooded <br />by storm water. Seconded by Ni]s en and motion carried unanimously. <br />Load limits & Because of water conditions and the State load limit of It tons, <br />Bus operation. Street Commissioner Christensen reported that buses could not <br />be parked along Snelling Avenue. Load limits for Village streets <br />were also discussed. The following resolution was moved by <br />Stewart, seconded by Nilsen and passed by a unanimous vote: <br />Resolution By reason of rain, snoR and climatic conditions, streets will <br />be seriously damaged or destroyed unless use of vehicles thereon <br />is restricted; <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Engineer post all <br /> Village streets, excepting Pascal A,.venue from Roselawn Avenue <br /> to Larpenteur Avenue, for not over 3 tons axle weight at the <br /> same time they post County roads. <br /> Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />Borden's Pure Building Inspector Christensen reported that Borden's Pure Oil <br />Oil Service Service, 1525 Larpenteur Avenue West, wants to replace their <br />to install present oil tank with a tank of larger capacity. Since the <br />oil tank ~ proposed installation xorK~woutfl cost more thaw X150.00, the <br /> building inspector was requested to ad~ri.se Borden's Pure Oil <br /> Service that a permit will be necessary, and that they should <br /> submit plans, showing the location of the proposed tank, etc. <br />Recgz. #110 for postage stamps, paper clips and other supplies for Clerk <br />' was approved on motion by Utecht, seconded by Shavor. <br />Greater St Paul Letter of March 6, 1957, was read from Mr. William V. Chenoweth, <br />Safety Council- Director of Safety, suggesting that one or more persons to <br />Village member- represent Fal con Heights be appointed to membershi n the <br />ship Greater St Paul Safety Council. It was mated tha appointees <br /> could alternate in attending meetings. Stewart moved that <br /> each of the following be appointed to membership on said <br /> Committee and that the Village pay membership fees and <br /> luncheon costs in connection therewith. Seconded by Utecht <br /> amd motion carried unanimously..- <br /> Willis Warkentien <br /> David P. Cartwright <br /> Donald E. Arndt <br />~._. <br />~~ <br />
