<br />REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, MAY 9, 1957
<br />Meeting called to order at ?:35 P.M., the following council members being present:
<br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee;
<br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: William E.
<br />Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes~of reconvened meeting of May 2, 1957, on page 823, mere corrected to read
<br />"Siren for fire truck No. 2." Also with reference to removing trash from
<br />drainage area, page 823, corrected to read, "allowance of X2.25 per hour .in~clu~din~
<br />his truck." Warkentien then moved that the minutes of April 25, 195?, prig 1 30,
<br />1957 and May 2, 1957 ~ approved as corrected, and that reading of said. minutes
<br />be dispensed with. Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Req'n. #117 covering office supplies .for the Clerk, waa approved on motion
<br />by Utecht, seconded by Warkentien.
<br />Req'n. #118 for Fire Department, listing cleaning supplies, 1 set turn
<br />signals for Engine #2, etc,, was approved on motion by Nilsen,
<br />seconded by Stewart.
<br />League's Letter of May 3, 1957, was read regarding the League of Minnesota
<br />Annual Municipalities l~3rd Annual Convention, to be held June 12, 13
<br />Convention and 11t, at Duluth.
<br />Liability_ Attorney Graham's letter of May 10, 1957, relative to Royal
<br />insurance in Indemnity Company insurance policy RLM 22-16-31, insuring the
<br />connection with

<br />contract to X300,000 as required by the contract with the Peter Lametti
<br /> Construction Company, Inc. The letter stated that the policy
<br /> appeared to be in proper form and should be kept with other
<br />_ Village insurance policies.
<br />Mail box The Clerk.read a petition signed by Otto G. Bonestroo and a
<br />matter number of other representatives and employees of business
<br /> establishments in the Northome Shopping Center, asking ''_
<br /> the council to request the Post Office to move the mail box
<br /> at Larpenteur and Arona back to its former location in front
<br /> of the barber shop near 1550 west Larpenteur Avenue. The Mayor
<br /> reported that the business men as a group stated they definitely
<br /> do not want the mail box moved from its present location if this
<br /> results in inconvenience to the people of the Village. The
<br /> Clerk was asked to write to Mr. Bonestroo, requesting that the
<br /> petitioners be so informed, and that copy of the letter be aent
<br /> to Mr. R.J. Luey, President, Falcon Heights Commercial Club.
<br />Metropolitan Letter Ras read relative to a meeting of Mayors of suburban
<br />Planning municipalities in Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, Dakota and e;ashington
<br />Commission - counties, to be held Monday afternoon, May 13, in the Natural.
<br />Mayors' meeting History Museum, University Canopus, for a discussion of Metropolitan
<br />May 13 Planning Commmission matters. Mayor Utecht indicated he would attend.
