~2 <br />Alley Attorney Graham's letter of April 29, 1957, Ras read, reporting <br />Improvement on the three original petitions for the improvement of the alley <br />between Larpenteur and California Avenues from Alberto Hemline <br />by grading and blacktopping, which petitions were received at <br />the council's April 25, 1957 meeting. The Attorney reported he <br />had checked and found the petitions to be sufficient under Chapter <br />429 of the Minnesota Statutes. Letter of May 9, 1957, from <br />Vernon L. Ljungren, of Milner W. Carley & Associates, our Village <br />Engineers, was read, stating (1) That the proposed improvement <br />is feasible and (2) That the preliminary estimate of costs for <br />this improvement is X2,390.00. Mr. John Ringus, 1367 California <br />Avenue Nest, and Dr. Russell E. Risbrudt, 1381 California Avenue <br />West, who were present, asked Air. Ljungren regarding matters <br />pertaining to proper drainage of the alley. After discussion, <br />the following resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote, on <br />motion by Nilsen, seconded by Warkentien <br />Resolution WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution of the Council adopted <br />Receiving Report April 30, 1957, a report has been prepared by Vernon L. Ljungrcn <br />and Calling of Milner W. Carley and Associates, Inc., with reference to the <br />Hearing on improvement of the alley between Larpenteur and California Avenue, <br />Improvement running from the West .line of Hemline Avenue to the East line of <br />Albert Street, in the Village of Falcon Heights, and this report <br />has been received by the Council; <br />NOY~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCII, OF <br />THE VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA: <br />1. The Council will consider the improvement of such <br />alley by grading and blacktopping in accordance with the report, <br />and the assessment of abutting property for all or a portion of <br />the cost of the improvement pursuant to Sections 429.011 to <br />429.111 of the Minnesota Statutes, at an estimated total cost of <br />the improvement of Two Thousand Three Hundred Ninety Dollars <br />02,390.00). <br />2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed <br />improvemenrt on Tuesday, May 28, 1957, in the Council Chambers. <br />of the Village Hall, 1644 West Larpenteur Avenue, Falcon Heights, <br />Minnesota, at 7:00 o'clock P.M., and the Clerk shall give <br />published notice of such hearing and improvement as required by <br />law. <br />Deubner re- W. H. Deubener, 1859 No. Snelling Avenue, appeared before the <br />quests install- council and stated that he and other property owners on the west <br />ation of rani- side of Snelling Avenue, •between the Maple Knoll addition and <br />tart' sewer Roselawn Avenue, now favored installation of sanitary sewer in <br />that area. Mr. Deubner was informed that this must be handled as <br />a separate improvement project, and at his request was furnished <br />with forms to be signed by said property owners in petitioning <br />for the installation of a sanitary sewer as provided for by <br />B~innesota statutes. Percentage of the cost to be assessed against <br />the abutting property and the percentage to be paid by general <br />props rty taxes, also the expense of crossing Snelling Avenue, <br />were discussed with Mr. Deubner. <br /> <br />1 <br />i <br /> <br />
