Also read in this connection, was letter of July 11 from Fire Chief Grumke, stating that three 5-gallon cans of Foam were used effectively on a recent Lauderdale fire call, and that at the same fire they had 3ust enough hose to reach 1200 feet from the fire to the hydrant. It was also stated that the ladders on Engine #1 are 10 years old and unsafe for use. After discussion, Shavor moved approval of the requisition, excepting the 600 feet of hose, and with the understanding that prices would be submitted for approval on the 28 ft. aluminum extension ladder. Nilsen seconded and motion carried unanimously.
