~~( <br />REGULAR Pir;ETTi~1G, THURSDAY, JULY 25, 1957 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.PA., the following council members being <br />present: George J. Shavor, Acting Mayor; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Clyde J. <br />Stewart, Clerk. Absent: William R. Utecht, Mayor, and Willis Warkentien, <br />Trustee. Also present: William E. Olsen, Treasurer and Frank N. Graham, <br />Attorney. <br />Alley Hearing It was reported that the work in the Alley, Block 1, <br />reconvened- Northome Addition, was being done under the direction <br />and recessed. of Mr. Steffes and that the affected property owners <br />wished to postpone the hearing until they could determine <br />how the iunprovement worked out. On motion by Nilsen, <br />.seconded by Stewart, the hearing was recessed until 7:00 P.M., <br />August .3~ 1957. <br />Fuel oil The Clerk reported that the total fuel oil consumption at <br />the Village Hall and Fire Station during the 1956-57 heating <br />season, was 6,123 gallons at a cost of $729.00 <br />P.E.R.A Letter of July 12, 1957, from the State Commissioner of <br />Administration, relative to a referendum of members of <br />the Public Employees Retirement Association-on the question <br />of Social Security coverage scheduled for October 15, 1957, <br />was read. Also read was a copy of the C]e rk's letter to <br />the Commissioner listing employees of the Village of <br />Falcon Heights who are members of P.E.R.A. <br />Pumping Water, The attorney's letter of July 19, 1957, relating to the <br />Drainage Hole drainage hole at Idaho and Snelling and authority received <br />from the City of St Paul, permitting the Village to pump <br />the water out of this hole into the St Paul storm sewer at <br />off-peak periods, providing that the matter was cleared <br />with Mr. Shepard's office,_also providing that the Village <br />furnish data to the City of St Paul on the amount of water <br />pumped and agree to pay the City of St Paul 7.5 cents per <br />100 cubic feet, the rate set up in our connection ordinance, <br />was discussed. <br />Pumping by <br />1 <br />1 <br />Fire Dept. In this connection, the Fire Chief's report df July 25, 1957, <br />was read, estimating that I~00 gallons per minutes were pumped, <br />the actual pumping time being 33 hours with gallonage estimated <br />at 792,000 gallons of drainage water pumped into the City sewers. <br />St Paul advised Shavor moved that the Clerk be authorized to write to Mr. <br />George Pd. Shepherd, City of St Paul Engineering Department, <br />advising him of our estimate of the number of gallons pumped <br />and the time involved. Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Air conditioning Following a discussion of the air conditioning water from <br />water the Rees business property into the drainage hole, Shavor <br />moved that the Fire Chief be requested to determine the <br />rate of flow from the Rees property into the drainage area. <br />Seconded by Stewart and motion carried unanimously. <br />Martin sewer Frederick Pdartin, 1717 N. Pascal, inquired as to where he <br />connection would be permitted to connect to the sewer. He was informed <br /> <br />
