g84 REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 1957 Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M., the folloxing council members being present: William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: William E. Olsen, Treasurer. Bernard P. Friel, Attorney. Minutes of Special meeting, August 1, 1957, approved as subanitted, Cloutier Copy of a letter dated July 29, 1957, from the Mutual Service Accident Casualty Company xas .read xith reference to the Cloutier accident involving our police squad car. On motion by Shavor, seconded by Utecht, the matter xas referred back to the Village Attorney for further action. Richard N. Franke Letter from Richard N. Franke, dated August 7, 1957, xas re boulevard read relative to a hole in his boulevard at 1375 West Iowa, hole xhich he said was caused by caving in after the serer xas installed in the street and.. that the hole created a hazard. Utecht moved that the letter be referred to the Sewer Contractor xith copy to the Village Attorney. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried unanimously. K.M. Clark Letter of August 6, 1957 from the K.M. Clark Engineering Company, Engineering of Minnesapolis, xas read relative to engineering services xhich Company they are prepared tp furnish municipalities. Sewer progress Our Sanitary Serer Engineers' letter of August 5, enclosing report a progress report for the reek ending August 2, 1957, xas read and the report studied. The report showed the area connected. to the St Paul system. The report also indicated house connections could be made to the .sewer in-the street in the Northome area xhich had received a final inspection by the engineers. Reqn. #125 - covering postage stamps, 2Lt receipt books and 100 ledger sheets Treas. needed by the Treasurer, xas approved on motion by Stewart, seconded by Utecht. Charles F. Letter from Charles F. Schrantz, dated August !~, 1957 xas read, Schrantz relative to his plans for completing a 6 ft. 6 in. high screen variance fence along the south side of his property at 1lt62 Craxford Request Street, from the rest lot line to his garage, and his request for a variance prom the building code in this connection. After discussion and on motion by Utecht, seconded by Stewart, the folloxing resolution xas adopted by a unanimous vote: Resolution - WHEREAS, the Council feels that the request of Charles F. Schrantz for a variance to the building code to permit the completion of a screen fence 6 feet and 6 inches in height along the south side of his property at 1162 Craxford Street, from the rest lot line to his garage, does not materially affect adversely health, safety or general xelfare, or public or private property.
