g84 <br />REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 1957 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M., the folloxing council members being present: <br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee; <br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: William E. <br />Olsen, Treasurer. Bernard P. Friel, Attorney. <br />Minutes of Special meeting, August 1, 1957, approved as subanitted, <br />Cloutier Copy of a letter dated July 29, 1957, from the Mutual Service <br />Accident Casualty Company xas .read xith reference to the Cloutier <br /> accident involving our police squad car. On motion by Shavor, <br /> seconded by Utecht, the matter xas referred back to the Village <br /> Attorney for further action. <br />Richard N. Franke Letter from Richard N. Franke, dated August 7, 1957, xas <br />re boulevard read relative to a hole in his boulevard at 1375 West Iowa, <br />hole xhich he said was caused by caving in after the serer xas <br /> installed in the street and.. that the hole created a hazard. <br /> Utecht moved that the letter be referred to the Sewer Contractor <br /> xith copy to the Village Attorney. Seconded by Stewart and motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br />K.M. Clark Letter of August 6, 1957 from the K.M. Clark Engineering Company, <br />Engineering of Minnesapolis, xas read relative to engineering services xhich <br />Company they are prepared tp furnish municipalities. <br />Sewer progress Our Sanitary Serer Engineers' letter of August 5, enclosing <br />report a progress report for the reek ending August 2, 1957, xas <br /> read and the report studied. The report showed the area <br /> connected. to the St Paul system. The report also indicated <br /> house connections could be made to the .sewer in-the street <br /> in the Northome area xhich had received a final inspection by <br /> the engineers. <br />Reqn. #125 - covering postage stamps, 2Lt receipt books and 100 ledger sheets <br />Treas. needed by the Treasurer, xas approved on motion by Stewart, <br /> seconded by Utecht. <br />Charles F. Letter from Charles F. Schrantz, dated August !~, 1957 xas read, <br />Schrantz relative to his plans for completing a 6 ft. 6 in. high screen <br />variance fence along the south side of his property at 1lt62 Craxford <br />Request Street, from the rest lot line to his garage, and his request <br />for a variance prom the building code in this connection. <br />After discussion and on motion by Utecht, seconded by Stewart, <br />the folloxing resolution xas adopted by a unanimous vote: <br />Resolution - WHEREAS, the Council feels that the request of Charles F. Schrantz <br />for a variance to the building code to permit the completion of <br />a screen fence 6 feet and 6 inches in height along the south side <br />of his property at 1162 Craxford Street, from the rest lot line <br />to his garage, does not materially affect adversely health, safety <br />or general xelfare, or public or private property. <br />I <br />
