It was estimated <br />on the basis of the Vital mill rate that this would result in <br />a 10 per cent tax increase for next year and 7 per cent the <br />year after. <br />George Bauman, asked what the assessment was on his Snelling Itanor property <br />123 So. Lexington and was informed the amount was X722.17 based on a frontage <br />St Paul of 806 feet. <br />Nick Christensen said his assessment was X1330. and since the apartment and <br />1910 Snelling Ave.N. 50-foot lots were getting the same benefit, h® thot the <br />' method of assessing was unfair. The attorney reported that <br /> the assessment probably could have been made on an area <br /> basis, but that the basis decided on by the Councilis used <br /> customarily in St Paul and that it was chosen as having the <br /> least ob3ection for the Village. Mr. Christensen also asked <br /> regarding extra subs in the street in his area and was <br /> informed that the engineer reported these were installed <br /> for possible future commercial development. <br />Amount of <br />assessment Messrs. Andrew Marco, 1730 Snelling Dr., E.C.Gladman, 1728 <br />asked Asbury, Alvin A. Benson, 1l~22 W. Larpenteur and L.M. Larson, <br /> 1$97 N. Albert, each inquired regarding the amount of his <br /> assessm®nt. Mrs. E.F. Hutton, 1365 California Avenue West, <br /> also asked about her assessment and about inspection that <br /> had to be made prior to making of the house connection. <br />Hearing No one else wishing to be heard, the h®aring was declared <br />closed closed at 8:15 P.M. <br />Resolution - On motion by Stewart, seconded by Shavor, the following <br />Assessment resolution accepting and adopting the assessment roll, <br />roll adopted was passed by a unanimous vote: <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to propa~/~~~~c ~ given as required <br />by lair, the Council has me a and passed upon all <br />ob~ectiona to the proposed assessment for Sanitary Sewer <br />Improvement System No. 1, assessing property upon the <br />following streets and avenues: <br />1 <br />-_ 1. Iowa Avenue from Snelling to Hemline. <br />2. Idaho Avenue from Snelling to Hemline, <br />3. Hollywood Court for approximately 650 ft. to Snelling <br />!i. California Avenue from Arona to Hemline <br />5. Larpenteur Avenue from approximately ?30 ft. East of <br />Cleveland to Hemline. (Both sides from Arona to Hemline <br />and both sides from Fry Street approximately 150 Peet <br />East and approximately 300 feet Il~eat). <br />6. Crawford Avenue from Asbury to Pascal <br />7. Maple Knoll Drive from Fry to Snelling <br />8. Garden Avenue from Fry to Snelling. <br />9. Garden Avenue from Holton to Hemline <br />l0. Ruggles Street from Snelling to Albert <br />11. Autumn Street from its Westerly in erse do witth <br />Roselawn to its Easterly intersection w~th ~osel.awn. <br />
