<br />REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1957
<br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M., the following council members being present:
<br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee;
<br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: Ydilliam E.
<br />Olsen, Treasurer; Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes of October 10, 1957 were approved as submitted.
<br />Req'n. #132 office supplies for Clerk's office, was approved on motion
<br />by Utecht, seconded by Warkentien.
<br />Req'n. #133 2 floor mats, 42" adapter, fuses for roof siren and typewriter
<br />Fire Dept. ribbon, approved on motion by Rlilsen, seconded by Utecht.
<br />MGI License #105 issued to Burniece-'s Inc., of Minneapolis, was approved on
<br />motion by Nilsen, seconded by Utecht.
<br />Master Plumber's issued to the Axel Newman Heating and Plumbing Company, of
<br />License #4 St Paul, was considered. On motion by Utecht, seconded
<br />by Nilsen, the issuance of said license was approved by
<br />a 3/5 vote of the council, Shavor and Warkentien voting
<br />No.
<br />Buster Plumber's issued to Wallace H. Johnson=Plumbing Company, of Minneapolis,
<br />License #3 was approved unanimously on motion by Warkentien, seconded
<br />by Nilsen.
<br />master Plumber's issued to D.W. Hickey and Company, Inc., of St Paul, was
<br />License #2 approved unanimously on motion by Utecht, seconded by
<br />Y~arkentien.
<br />Park and Letter of October 15, 1957, from Eugene A. Monick~was
<br />Recreational read, regarding request of the Board of Ramsey County
<br />areas Commissioners for suggestions as to areas suitable for
<br />park and recreational development.

<br />voters'registeration Letter was read from Donald T. Nystrom, Supervisor of
<br />Elections, City of St Paul, relative to a meeting of the
<br />Legislative Committee on Monday, October 21, at 8 P.M.,
<br />in the County Board Room of the Court House, at which
<br />the possibilities of a county wide voters' registration
<br />system were discussed. Shavor and Stewart who attended
<br />the meeting reported on high lights of the proposal and
<br />the Committee's plan to acquaint other Ramsey County
<br />communities with the proposal before acting on the matter.

<br />Ahlberg culvert Letter of October 22, 1957, by Judd S. Mulally, Attorney,
<br />matter representing Merlin A. Ahlberg, 1340 West Idaho,. was read.
<br />The letter referred to a culvert which was recently installed
<br />in the street adjacent to the Ahlberg property at the southwest
<br />corner of Hamline and Idaho. It was stated. that Mr. .Ahlberg
<br />feels that the culvert should be installed as provided for in
<br />the council's resglution of September 12, 1957, instead of
<br />terminating at the driveway ~f the Ahlberg garage. Attorney
<br />Discussion Mulally and Mr. Ahlberg were present and discussed the
<br />matterswith Engineers Steffes arxi Betley. Bair. Steffes said
<br />it woulra change the Aresent contour of the boulevard if the
