<br />Deputy Clerk - The Cle rk reported on duties performed by the Deputy Village
<br />appointment Clerk, Mrs. Ethel E. White, and the need for continuing the
<br />extended appointment on a temporary basis during hours that conform
<br />with the work load. Shavor moved that because of the reduced
<br />work load in the Deputy Clerk's office that the matter be
<br />left to the discretion of the Village Clerk and that the period
<br />of employment be extended for not to exceed 90 days following
<br />November 15, 1957• Seconded by Utecht and motion carried
<br />unanimously.
<br />Falcon Woods Letter of October 22, 1957 from ;~Ir. C.H. Sampier, 1997 Autumn
<br />Addition Street Street, was read relative to the unsatisfactory condition of
<br />the newly constructed street in Falcon 1~Yoods Addition. The
<br />letter was referred to the Village Engineer.
<br />Falcon Hts. Letter of October 21, 1957 from Engineer Ljungren was read,
<br />Congregational reporting on an inspection made by Mr. Betley and tdr. Ljungren
<br />Church - deposit in the area of the crossing that the Falcon Heights Congregational
<br />returned. Church used for moving of its parsonage and that they could find
<br />no damage to either the street or the sanitary sewer. On their
<br />recommendation, Treasurer Olsen was asked to refund the Church's
<br />$1,500 deposit check.
<br />Sewer Rental Attorney Graham's letter was read, summarizing the discussion
<br />rates relative to sewer rental rates, held in the office of Adrian
<br />P. Minkel, Commissioner of Public Works, St Paul, on October
<br />22, 1957, the meeting being attended by Commissioner Winkel,
<br />Messrs. Seamor, Duvall, Steffes, Tews, Homboe, Graham and
<br />Trustee Shavor. Mr. Seamor pointed out that St Paul sewer
<br />rental charges were all based upon water meter sizes and that
<br />those homes within the City with larger meters because of
<br />low pressure were affected the same way as those in Falcon
<br />Heights. He also said that St Paul residents paid in addition
<br />to their annual sewer rental, a tax amounting to !ta to 5 mills
<br />on the assessed value of their property, w hether severed or not,
<br />which taxes are not paid by suburban residents. The Technical
<br />Committee recommended that no change be made in the billing set
<br />up by the Ordinance.
