Avenue, appeared before the <br />skating rink council in connection with flooding a lot he has back of his <br />home for a neighborhood skating rink, and asked that Stanley <br />Schultz be given permission to use the tank truck for this <br />purpose. Mr. Lametti and Mr. Steirnrorth stated they xvuld <br />donate their services in assisting Mr. Schultz. Utecht <br />Resolution moved that the Fire Chief be asked to make arrangements for <br />Stanley Schultz to use the tank truck to flood the Lametti <br />lot as requested. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Other skating Utecht moved that Bernard Rechtiene, Chairman, Parks & Play- <br />rinks ordered grounds Committee, be requested to go ahead and arrange for <br />installed the installation of the two local skating rinks and have <br />Baden do the necessary plowing and repair the hockey net, <br />and that Stanley Schultz be authorized to haul out the boards <br />and help install them at ~i2.00 an hour. Seconded by Shavor <br />and motion carried unanimously. <br />Folice Car - Iti connection with the Police Car being equipped with snow <br />snow tires tires; Warkentien moved that Police Commissioner Arndt be <br />instructed to leave the snow tires on the present rims and <br />buy near wheels in the Spring of 1958• Seconded by Stewart <br />and motion carried unanimously. <br />Reqn. #134 covering office supplies needed for the Deputy Village <br />Clerk and Village election supplies, was approved on motion <br />by Wa'rkentien, seconded by Nilsen. <br />St Paul Seger Letter of December 2, 195? from David P. Cartwright, a member <br />Rental Charges - of our Committee who met with Mr. Seamer recently regarding <br />St Paul sewer rental charges, was read. Mr. Cartxright's <br />Cartxright's position, as stated in the letter, is that the Village should <br />letter not agree willingly to any increase in rates and should 3oin <br />with the other effected suburbs in objecting to the rate <br />increas®. After discussion of the matter with Mr. Cartwright <br />Resolution - who was present, Utecht moved that the 1 etter be referred to <br />the Village Attorney with the understanding that the Council <br />is in agreement with the letter, although we will accede to a <br />reasonable and uniform increase; and further, that the attorney <br />be instructed to loin with the other suburbs involved to protest <br />the contemplated action by the City of St Paul. Seconded by <br />iXarkentien and motion carried unanimously. <br />i <br />1 <br />Bills -Carley Referring to tiro bills submitted by Milner W. Carley & Associates, <br />Engineering one for engineering services for October 1957 in th~amount of <br />X6210.00, and one for engineering services for November, 1957, <br />in the amount of X260.00, 11Parkentien moved that the two bills <br />be paid subject to the engineer furnishing the Village with an <br />itemized statement for each bill for that portion of the bill <br />over and above the minimum engineering charge. Seconded by <br />Utecht and motion carried unanimously. <br />2~ prem=. tax The Clerk submitted a written report on his attendance of a <br />meeting held November 10, 1957 in the office of the Commissioner <br />of Insurance, relative to proposals for effecting a proper <br />allocation of the 2~ premiums tax on fire insurance and related <br />policies payable to firetowns. <br />1 <br />
