<br />The council thanked the committee for its recommendations.
<br />Mr. Steffes reported on furnishing to the City of Saint Paul
<br />a map showing sanitary suers and service connections in the
<br />Village as of October 1, 195?, and again as of December 31,
<br />1957.
<br />Lametti Contract, Mr. Steffes' letter of December 5, 1957, was read relative to
<br />recommendation the sanitary server engineers' inspection of the streets in
<br />to reduce retained which sanitary servers were installed,fhe inspection being
<br />percentage for the purpose of determining the amount of work remaining
<br /> to be done or which may require correction in the spring of
<br /> 1958, with the recommendation that the retained percentage
<br /> on the contract of the Peter Lametti Construction Company
<br /> be reduced to $30,000. and that this amount be retained until
<br /> all ofthe work is completed to the satisfaction of the engineers
<br /> and the Village council in the spring of 1958, amounts to be
<br /> retained as follows: (1) The deposit xith the State Highway
<br /> for replacing surfacing on Snelling Drive from Hoyt to Roselawn,
<br /> X10,000.; (2) For maintenance of streets not resurfaced and for
<br /> corrective work, spring of 1958, X15,000.; (3) For seeding and
<br /> sodding, pruning of trees, driveway repair, miscellaneous
<br /> corrective work, X5,000.
<br />Resolution: After discussion, Nilsen moved that the Clerk be authorized
<br /> to sign Extra Order No. 11 in the amount of ~533.tt1; Extra
<br /> Order No. 12 in the amount of ~66,102.l~5; Extra Order No. 13
<br /> in the amount of ~i89.l~0; and Credit Memo No. 1 in the amount
<br /> of ~1ltlt., and release the retained percentage to the amount
<br /> of 930,000., which shall be retained until the final certificate
<br /> is issued for payment to the Contractor. Seconded by Shavor
<br /> and motion carried unanimously.

<br />RESOLVED, that the amount of work on the Peter Lametti
<br />Construction Company contract and a release of the retained
<br />percentage doxn to the amount of #30,000., amounting to a
<br />total payment of X109,057.31, be made to the Peter Lametti
<br />Construction Company, in accordance with Certificate No. 6,
<br />dated December 5, 1957, issued by the engineers, certifying
<br />as to the amounts due the contractor, sub3ect to the Village
<br />attorney's report on the Contractor's bond.
<br />Craig Contract Mr. Steffes reported on the Street Resurfacing contract with
<br />for Street Resur- the Jay W, Craig Company for the period ending October 32,
<br />facing discussed, 1957, stating that the amount due the contractor is approximately
<br />xork left to X1lt,lll; that there is a total of about 1lt,600 fast of street
<br />be done left to be done, roughly estimated to cost X29,200. Mr. Steffen
<br />estimated there would be an over-run on the Craig contract of
<br />$10,000 to X15,000. He recommended that the Village Engineer
<br />be directed to survey the drainage system north of Larpenteur
<br />and make recommendation as to what street surfacing work should
<br />not be done until Larpenteur Avenue is completed.
