This memo is to update. you on my progress and <br />to transmit some of the requested information. <br />1. Joint Powers Authoritv <br />The Saint Paul City Council and Mayor have me to execute new or updated cooperative <br />purchasing agreements with individual governments within Ramsey County who have expressed <br />an interested in.collaborating. Enclosed in this packet is a copy of our signed resolution.and the <br />boilerplate joint powers agreement. <br />2. Service Costs <br />Several of you asked for more information on the costs associated with using the services of our <br />office. A cost sheet is also enclosed that includes specific information for using our gas contract <br />and our merchant.account contract. <br />3. Communications <br />I have now set up an e-mail group for this Cooperative Purchasing interest group. We can begin <br />using this as a way to share information about opportunities to work together. I hope to do an <br />initial "mailing" very shortly to test out a possible format. <br />I have also initiated discussions with the technical staff who maintain our web site. I have asked <br />them to provide me with information on the costs of adding a special cooperative purchasing <br />component to our web site. Le>?islation <br />Though this was not a major topic at our previous meetings, I want to update you on an initiative <br />related to Minnesota procurement statutes. I have been working closely with staff in Hennepin <br />County and the League of Minnesota Cities to develop proposed. amendments to the Uniform <br />Municipal Contracting Act (471.345).
