Mr. Maertz <br />September 4, 2003 <br />Page Two <br />Parking Lot <br />There is a grade break that runs roughly down the middle of the parking lot that causes water to form <br />a large puddle around the pedestrian ramp on Iowa Avenue. We recommend that the parking lot be <br />redesigned so that storm water drains into the existing catch basin. We anticipate that the redesign of <br />the parking lot will take approximately 10 hours of staff time, and 4 hours of survey crew time. <br />Storm Sewer System Evaluation <br />There appears to be a collapse of the storm sewer pipe on the north end of the project. We <br />recommend that all storm sewer pipes be evaluated for serviceability. This would include televising <br />approximately 450 lineal feet of storm sewer. Generally a project of this size is done on a time and <br />materials basis at $160.00 to $200.00 per hour, with a minimum time requirement of 3 to 4 hours. The <br />time required to televise the storm sewer on this project is estimated to be less than 4 hours. The cost <br />of televising the lines would be directly billed to the City. We anticipated that the storm sewer <br />evaluation will take approximately 16 hours of staff time. <br />Fees <br />• <br />Howard R.
